⛪ Twinned Deanery Gatherings

As part of our shared life together as a Diocese, we are once again holding a series of Twinned Deanery Gatherings this autumn. The next gathering will take place on 5 November at Warmsworth St Peter.

You will have the chance to:

✝️ Meet Bishop Leah, and hear her speak about her faith in Jesus Christ and her hopes for her ministry as Bishop.
✝️ Hear a short Bible study from Bishop Pete.
✝️ Meet your Archdeacon – in Sheffield and Rotherham this will be an early opportunity to meet Revd Canon David Gerrard.

We encourage everyone to come along: clergy, lay leaders, and members of all our churches. These gatherings are for the whole Diocese, and your presence will help us to celebrate being one body in Christ. Each gathering runs from 7pm to 9pm, and all are warmly invited to attend.

Doncaster Ladies Choir will be performing a concert at St Peter's church, Warmsworth on Saturday 13th at 7:30pm. Tickets are available to purchase on the door for £7.

Worship is still happening in full swing at St Peter. This morning we celebrated with all age worship with Caroline and Joseph, the young people leading us from the front in our psalm, gospel reading and prayers. Matthew leading us in musical worship on the piano with our choir "Proclaim", and the joy of a suprise Thanksgiving for Elsie who will be baptised next week. Next Sunday we will celebrate with the Eucharist at 10am with Venerable Javaid Iqbal, Archdeacon of Doncaster.

Lay-led evening worship is still happening also, quieter contemplative evening worship at 4:30pm. Tonight was Taizé led by Caroline, followed by fellowship with coffee and delicious homemade scones and jam! Next Sunday evening is Celtic Prayer led by Joseph. Our Reader, Mark leads the week after that, in morning prayer with messy church in the hall in the evening. We might be in interregnum and praying hard for God to plant a seed in the mind of a new priest to join our Mission Area, but there is still ample opportunity to meet each week in community with Jesus across our whole mission area. Thursday morning at 9:30am we are alternating between morning prayer with our church Wardens, Maureen and Jill, and eucharistic service at St Peter, depending on availability. All are most welcome in all our Mission Area. This is your community church and it would be good to see you.

Today was Derek's last service with us at Warmsworth (he still has a couple of services to go in the rest of our mission area). Thank you so much to both Liz and Derek and also Lynne too, for the way you have supported us, prayed with us, and helped carry us this last few months. We wish you well in your journey forwards and that it brings with it so many new and exciting blessings for each of you.

A wonderful celebration we had this morning in our worship to our God who brings summer and light into our lives! Send forth your Spirit Lord, and renew the face of the ground! 🌞🕊️🕯️🙌🎶

We also held out our memories of Janet, who passed away suddenly on Wednesday. We pray together for her family and friends, holding them in our thoughts, and remembering the light she brought into our lives and the blessing she was to God and to us. 🙏

Wonderful service with Bishop Pete this morning! Annointing, communion, and a pouring out of the holy spirit upon all of us; to equip and enliven us to spread Christ's light out into the world and let others know of His love for them.
