What a wonderful morning at SMC!

This morning we’ve been thinking about journeying together — about the paths we travel, the people we journey alongside, and the ways we can support one another along the way.

With a new academic year just around the corner, it was especially lovely to reflect on all the journeys that are about to begin: new classes, new schools, new opportunities, new challenges… and all the excitement and uncertainty that comes with them.

Our morning culminated in a special moment of blessing, as our church family gathered around the our young people, praying for them as they begin another year of learning and growing.

And we also prayed for all those adults who work in education — teachers, teaching assistants, support staff, lunchtime staff, leaders, administrators and everyone who helps our schools and colleges flourish.

May they all know that they don’t journey alone. ❤️

Whatever the year ahead holds, we pray that our young people and all who work with them will know God’s presence, strength and peace every step of the way.

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR — OUTDOOR SERVICE
As part of the Sprotbrough Scarecrow Festival

What does it actually mean to love your neighbour?

Well, we’re going to have a go at finding out — with a little help from the story of the Good Samaritan, offering some radical hospitality, and quite possibly welcoming a dog or two, too.

Come and join us at Sprotbrough Methodist Church for a relaxed, outdoor service right in the heart of our community.

🎨 Get stuck into crafts & activities with the kids
🐕 Bring your dog
🎶 Enjoy some live worship
🌻 Meet some neighbours
❤️ And explore what it might look like to love the people around us — whoever they are.

We’re Christians, and we think church should be a place where everyone can feel at home. No special clothes. No need to know the words. No previous church experience required. Just come along.

We want to be good neighbours to Sprotbrough — not just on a Sunday, but every day. And if that means making a bit of noise, sharing a cuppa, getting crafty with the kids and making room for the dog… well, that sounds like a pretty good day to us.

Everyone is welcome. Seriously.

What a wonderful Sunday! 💛

It was so special to celebrate the baptisms of Celeste and her daughters, surrounded by so many of our church family.

There’s something incredibly beautiful about seeing the church full - and even more so when we’re gathered together to celebrate such a joyful moment.
