As a church and session we want to extend our deepest sympathies to our elder Philip Beattie (and his wife Elizabeth) on the sad loss of his dear mother, Marjorie (in her 97th year). Also to his daughter Ruth, husband Steven and children, Caleb, Daniel and Leah on the loss of their precious grandmother and great-grandmother.
Also to the wider family circle, to Stanley, Isabel and Rachel on the loss of their dear mother, to their spouses, to Marjorie''s 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren who were all very special to her.
Marjorie was a "stalwart" of our church (her father was a founder of our original church in Annaghanoon before it moved to Donaghcloney). She was ever faithful in attending the house of God and did so right up until recent times when her health deteriorated and she moved to Drombane Nursing Home.
Mrs Beattie lived a life of Christian love which touched many lives in many ways. She will be greatly missed, not only by her own family but by her church family, who held her in high esteem.
It is a great comfort to know that on Friday 5th June that Mrs Beattie immediately went into the Presence of the Lord Jesus where she will have no more pain, sorrow nor tears and is reunited with her husband Bertie and with other loved ones who have gone on before.
Mrs Beattie's funeral service will take place at 1pm in Donaghcloney Elim Church.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing."
1 Timothy 4:6-7
