Youth of Uganda

Youth of Uganda Youth of Uganda (YOU) launched in 2019 after 19 individuals connected to Belfast Sydenham Salvation Army went on mission in 2018 to Uganda, Kampala.

The Salvation Army is an International Christian Church working in 128 countries and has more than 800 local churches in the UK and Ireland. Belfast Sydenham Corps (Church) is a local expression of The Salvation Army, situated at 13 Station Mews, BT4 1TL, just off the Holywood Road in East Belfast.

**Next year (July 2018) 19 individuals who attend or have a connection with our church will head ou

t on a mission trip to Uganda. While in Uganda we will carry out a number of projects in Salvation Army centres. We will visit two Salvation Army sites (Kampala Community Centre and Kampala Home of Joy) as well as carrying out programmes in the slums.**

🏗️ Clinic Construction Update

We’re pleased to share that construction of the clinic is progressing well. The contractor is currently working on the gable end of the building, which will form the pitched roof. Work has also included raising the wall plate slightly and completing finishing touches on the gutters.

The next major step will be the roofing phase, which is expected to begin soon and will likely take place over April and May. This will mark an important milestone as the building begins to take its final shape.

We’re thrilled to announce that Phase One of the Youth of Uganda Maternity Clinic is officially complete! 🙌

From laying the foundation to raising the walls and setting the beams — our amazing team has worked tirelessly to bring this dream to life. 💪

This is a huge step toward our mission of providing safe and accessible maternal health services for women and children in the local community. 💖

👷🏾‍♂️Butebo Clinic Update👷🏾‍♂️

Youth of Uganda is delighted to announce that work has begun on the new clinic in Butebo 🎉

Our construction crew in Uganda has started laying the foundations of the new health clinic.
As you can see in the video, all work is completed by hand so quite an accomplishment in just a few days since breaking ground to dig the foundations. Team YOU can also confirm from our previous experience at the Home of Joy, that Ugandan bricks are solid and very heavy to move!
