Diss Salvation Army Church

Diss Salvation Army Church A Church where everyone is welcome with outreach to the local community Our Sunday Church services are informal and inclusive.

The Salvation Army is an International Christian Church working in over 120 countries worldwide. We play our part here in Diss as a place of worship providing ministry, service and activities in and for our community. We strive to reflect what it means to be followers of Jesus and how we can bring that about in the Diss community. Those within the church join together in singing a combination of m

odern and traditional songs as well as having time for prayer and sharing with others. Throughout the meeting there is a talk centered on what the Bible teaches, in order to learn and be challenged by what it means to be a follower of Jesus. After the service, tea & coffee is provided for all.

Salvation Army supporters helped prevent 505,000 tonnes of carbon emissions being released in 2024/25. That's the equivalent of taking 270,000 cars off the road!

With more than 250 million items donated to The Salvation Army each year (yes, really!), every donation and every second-hand purchase helps give clothes a longer life and avoids the environmental impact of producing something new.

A huge thank you to everyone who donates, shops at and supports our Salvation Army Charity Shops.

Small choices can add up to a big impact ♻️

Many of you will know Majors David and Gun Young, who 60 years ago today were married in Diss Salvation Army Church by the Chief of the staff who later became General Erik Wickberg. They had a surprise afternoon tea on Tuesday attended by many Corps folk and luncheon club members. We send them many congratulations as they celebrate this wonderful occasion.

This Volunteers’ Week we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who serves The Salvation Army in their own time.

Our volunteers bring their best selves, their God-given energies and their convictions to support our vital work. They are enthusiastic, committed and eager to give their time and skills to care for some of the most marginalised and vulnerable people in our society.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! We are so grateful for all that you do ❤️

They each hold a white mug with a hot drink as they share a happy moment.]
