The response to last month’s urgent prayer request for Caleb has been hugely encouraging. Many of you have been praying daily for Caleb. Rev Andrew and Eilidh Macleod have found great comfort and strength in the prayerful support, love and kindness extended to them as a family at such a distressing time. They have provided the following update regarding Caleb:
‘Caleb spent two anxious weeks in critical care. The early days were filled with uncertainty and fear as his cancer progressed rapidly and his condition worsened. We were told that his survival was in doubt. On Monday, 3rd August, Caleb was transferred back to the main ward. This was a moment of immense relief and gratitude, marking a turning point in his journey.
'We are so grateful to the brilliant team at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, Edinburgh, for the exceptional care and compassion they continue to provide for Caleb.
'Above all, we thank God, our Heavenly Father, for sustaining Caleb and our wider family through this dark time.
'We wish to express our sincere thanks to the vast army of people that have been praying for Caleb. Please keep praying for Caleb as he now faces a whole year of aggressive neuroblastoma treatment.’
Rev Calum Iain Macleod, Free Church Moderator, said: "As we all continue to remember Caleb, we pray for ongoing resilience for Andrew and Eilidh, along with Isla. Pray that they will all be upheld by the all-sufficient grace of our faithful God and know the joy of the Lord as their strength day by day. Pray also for the encouragement of their church family at New City Church Dunfermline at this challenging time."
