Sunday afternoon 24 May, outdoor drop-in church service with tea, cake and children’s play area.

Whether you’ve lived in the area for years or you’ve only just arrived, we’d truly love to join us. If you need to drive, there’s parking on Wantage Road at the junction with the A417. Just look out for the marshalls!

The QR code tells you more about who we are and what we do. If you can’t make it to Praise in the Park, you’d be very welcome at any other event, including a free baby and toddler group and a community café. And if you’d like to get in touch with us for any reason at any time, call the church office on 01235 834256 or jump on hcchurches.org.

[poster image of a marquee with the church logo on the roof, with details as follows: refreshments 3.30pm, 45min service at 4pm. Parking in the Rec - just follow the signs. WR code 2/3 of the way down on the right of the poster leads you to more information].

Do you want to budget, save and spend better in 2026? Here's a couple of ideas from the local CAP money coaching team. You could check out www.capuk.org/money-and-debt-advice/building-a-budget and DIY your own plan of attack. OR you’d have a warm welcome at a *free* day of money management – with lunch – on Saturday 7 February. No strings attached, just practical tactics so you control your cash, not the other way round, from one of the UK’s major debt advice agencies. A blessed 2026 from the team at St Matthew's Harwell with All Saints' Chilton. Can you just about make out the chimes from inside St Matthew's just now? The top window is where the ringers have just broken off their tunefulness to await the clock.

This is an initiative which started in the dark days of the cost of living crisis winter.

There's not much sign of the cost of living situation improving but the welcome by our volunteers and the lovely people at The Harwellian remains ever warm and generous.

🌸 Can You Help Us Spread a Little Kindness in Harwell? 🌸
Every Thursday from 2–4pm, the Harwellcome Community Café opens its doors at The Harwellian for a free cuppa, cake, and a friendly chat. It’s a warm, welcoming space especially for those who might be feeling a bit lonely or isolated — but we know many who would benefit simply don’t know it’s happening, or don’t want to come alone.
💬 That’s where you come in.
If you have a neighbour, friend, or relative in Harwell who might enjoy a gentle afternoon out — please tell them about it. Even better, why not offer to bring them along? A familiar face can make all the difference.
No need to book, no pressure — just tea, coffee, cake, and good company. Everyone is welcome.
📍 Thursdays 2–4pm at The Harwellian
☕ Free refreshments
💛 Friendly faces and conversation
