Death Notice – Fr. Frank McLaughlin

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Reverend Father Frank Mc Laughlin, who passed away peacefully on 4th October 2025.

Fr. Frank faithfully served the people of the parishes of Holy Souls Parish, Scunthorpe, St. Mary’s Parish, Derby, Our Lady of Victories, Southwell, St. Anne’s Parish, Radcliffe-on-Trent, Mother of God Parish, Leicester, Good Shepherd Parish, Woodthorpe and St. Eugene's Cathedral, Derry for many years, ministering with kindness, humility, and devotion. His gentle spirit, compassion, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew him.

We give thanks to God for Fr. Frank’s life of service and dedication to the Church. May he rest in peace.

Rev. Fr. Frank will be reposing in St. Eugene’s Cathedral from 4:00pm today (Monday 6th October).

Removal leaving there on Tuesday 7th October at 6:00pm to St. Columba’s Church, Longtower for Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12:00noon. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

Fr. Charles Keaney, Fr. Michael Doherty and Fr. Patrick Doherty will celebrate 50 years of Priesthood this month. To mark their anniversaries:

Fr. Charlie will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving in St John the Baptist Church, Granaghan, this Monday, 2nd June, at 7.30pm.

Fr. Michael will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving in St. Mary’s Church, Melmount on Monday, 16th June at 7.30pm.

Fr. Paddy will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving in St. Mary’s Church, Maghera on Thursday, 19th June, at 7.30pm.

Fr. Oliver Crilly will celebrate 60 years of Priesthood with a Mass of Thanksgiving on Saturday, 14th June, at 12 Noon in St. Mary’s Church, Castlefin.

It is with deep regret we inform you of the death of Father Liam Donnelly.

Father Liam touched many people's lives during his 60 years of Priesthood and will be greatly missed by everyone.

We will always remember his great stories and homilies about his ministry as a Priest and his love for his Parish of Lavey.

We will all remember Fr. Liam fondly and have wonderful memories.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Fr. Donnelly’s family and friends at this time.

Eternal rest grant unto your servant Father Liam, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Amen.
