Important Notice: School Meals & Building Works
Dear Parents

I hope you had a lovely, enjoyable Summer with your families and that the children are ready to return to school. I look forward to welcoming the children on Tuesday 1st September 2026. In advance of the children’s return, I would like to share two important notices with you.

Firstly, I regret to advise that our canteen service will not be operational for the first week of September 2026. Our meals are prepared in Rosemount PS canteen and delivered daily to St John’s PS. However, due to their ongoing refurbishment programme, children who are entitled to free school meals will receive a packed lunch next week instead of a hot meal. This will be a standard packed lunch with no options. Therefore, if your child has food preferences other than a sandwich packed lunch, I encourage you to provide a lunch that your child will enjoy.

Secondly, please be advised that there are also refurbishment works ongoing in our former Year 4 playground and classroom areas. Therefore, the playground will not be accessible for a few more weeks. Please supervise your children closely during arrival and departure times.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Yours sincerely

VATICAN CITY — Pope Leo XIV has urged Catholics to prioritize attending Sunday Mass, warning that active participation in the Eucharist cannot be replaced by virtual gatherings.

“I urge everyone to seek the best possible conditions so that even those who are unable to take time off work on Sundays may take part in holy Mass,” Leo said.

In his address during his general audience at the Vatican on Aug. 12, the pontiff continued his catechesis on the Second Vatican Council’s constitution on the liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium.
