# # The Bread & Beauty of His Presence | Leviticus 24:5–9

**What if one of the most overlooked pictures in the Old Testament reveals something beautiful about how much God desires fellowship with His people?**

Inside the Tabernacle, twelve loaves of bread were continually placed before the Lord. They were called the **bread of the Presence**—a visible reminder that God had brought His people near and desired them to live in fellowship with Him.

But that bread was pointing forward to something even greater.

**Jesus Christ has opened the way for sinful people to come into the presence of God.**

Join us this **Lord’s Supper Sunday** at Derry Baptist Fellowship as we open Leviticus 24:5–9 and Hebrews 10:19–22 and discover the beautiful invitation at the heart of the Gospel: **God has made a way for us to draw near.**

# # # This Week’s Message

**1️⃣ THE TABLE — God Wants Fellowship | Leviticus 24:5–6**

The twelve loaves stood before God continually, representing His covenant people in His presence.

From the beginning, God’s purpose was never merely religious ritual. He created and redeemed a people to **know Him, walk with Him, and enjoy fellowship with Him.**

**2️⃣ THE BREAD — God Remains Present | Leviticus 24:7–9**

Week after week, fresh bread was placed before the Lord.

The bread was a continual reminder: **God had not forgotten His people. His presence remained among them.**

Our circumstances change. Our feelings change. We sometimes wander. But God remains faithful.

**3️⃣ THE WAY — Christ Opens the Way | Hebrews 10:19–22**

The Tabernacle also taught an uncomfortable truth: sinful people could not simply walk into the holy presence of God.

There was a barrier.

But Jesus changed everything.

Through His body broken and His blood shed for us, Christ opened **“a new and living way”** into the presence of God.

That is what we remember at the Lord’s Table.

The bread points us to His body.
The cup points us to His blood.
And together they proclaim that **Jesus has made a way for sinners to come home to God.**

# # # What Can We Learn?

• **God wants more than your religion — He wants fellowship with you.**
• **God's presence is not something we earn — it is a gift of His grace.**
• **Jesus Christ is the only way sinful people can draw near to a holy God.**

The great privilege of Christianity is not simply that God gives us things.

**God gives us Himself.**

And because of Jesus, we do not have to remain far away.

> **“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith…” — Hebrews 10:22**

Whether you have followed Christ for years, haven't been to church in a long time, or are simply exploring Christianity, **you are very welcome to join us.**

What if the hope you're looking for isn't found in a religion, but in a Person?

We believe Jesus Christ offers real hope, truth, peace and grace — and that He can be known personally.

Each Sunday we open the Bible, work through it verse by verse, and let God’s Word speak for itself.
Whether you’ve been around church/chapel all your life, haven’t been in years, or aren’t even sure what you believe, you’re welcome to come, listen and ask questions.

# We Shall See: When Life Falls Apart | Genesis 37:12–36

**GENESIS: The Life of Joseph — God Meant It for Good**

What do you do when life suddenly stops following the plan you had in your head?

Joseph leaves home on what seems like an ordinary errand. But before long, he is betrayed by his own brothers, thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, and carried away toward Egypt.

His brothers believe they have destroyed his future.

They even mock the dreams God had given him:

**“We shall see what will become of his dreams.”**

But they are about to discover something they cannot yet see:

**You cannot overturn what God has established.**

When circumstances change, God’s Word has not changed.
When people fail you, God has not failed you.
And when you cannot see what God is doing, He may already be working in ways far bigger than you realise.

Join us this Sunday as we continue through the life of Joseph and discover how to trust God when life does not go according to plan.

# # This Week’s Message

**1️⃣ Sin Takes You Farther Than You Think**
*(Genesis 37:12–22)*

Joseph’s brothers allow jealousy and hatred to grow until they are willing to do something they may never have imagined themselves capable of doing. Sin never stays neatly contained.

**2️⃣ God’s Word Stands When Your Plans Fall Apart**
*(Genesis 37:23–28)*

Joseph’s coat is taken. His freedom is taken. His plans disappear in a moment.

But one thing his brothers cannot take from him is what God has spoken.

**3️⃣ God Is Working When You Cannot See Him**
*(Genesis 37:29–36)*

To Jacob, everything appears to have gone terribly wrong. Joseph is gone. The family is grieving. The future looks dark.

But while Jacob is mourning in Canaan, Joseph is arriving in Egypt.

What looks like the end of the story is actually part of God’s unfolding plan.

# # What Can We Learn?

• **Don’t underestimate where unchecked sin can take you.**
• **Hold onto what God has said when you cannot understand what He is doing.**
• **Trust God’s presence and purposes even when you cannot see His hand.**

The story of Joseph is not ultimately about Joseph’s ability to survive difficult circumstances.

It is about the faithfulness of God.

And Joseph’s story points us forward to someone greater — **Jesus Christ**.

Joseph was rejected by his own. Jesus was rejected by His own.

Joseph was handed over for silver. Jesus was betrayed for silver.

Joseph suffered because of the wickedness of others, yet God used it for a greater purpose. At the cross, sinful men rejected and crucified Jesus — yet through that very cross, God accomplished His great plan of redemption.

Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.

And because He lives, even your darkest chapter does not have to be the end of your story.

**You may only see one page. God sees the whole story.**

💬 **Join us live this Sunday. Whether you’ve been part of church for years, haven’t been in a long time, or are simply exploring Christianity, we’d love to welcome you.**
