It is with sadness we announce the death of our member Mervyn Colhoun.

Please remember his wife, Ann, his children, Desmond, Elaine, Lesley and their families in your prayers.

Colhoun Mervyn George (The carpet fitter): 21st August 2026 peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital .
Beloved Husband of Ann, Loving Father of Desmond, Elaine and Lesley, Dear Father in Law of Marc and Alfie, and a Devoted Grandfather of Zara, James, Travis and Brody.
Funeral service in his home 10 Glendon Park Altnagelvin at 2pm on Monday 24th August followed by burial in Ballyoan cemetery

The Inner City Churches today launched their ‘Pilgrims Together Trail’ and we’re delighted to be part of it!

This is a ground-breaking initiative funded by the Dept of Foreign Affairs, Dublin involving Carlisle Road Methodist, First Derry Presbyterian, St Augustine’s, St Columba’s Long Tower and St Columb’s Cathedral.

We were delighted today to present a cheque for £400 to Alexis and Bronagh, representing our neighbours at the Family Justice Centre Foyle Women's Aid, along with 30 welcome packs filled with toiletries, snacks and home comforts for residents.

The £400 was raised through the retiring collection at our annual Ladies’ Service, while the welcome packs were put together with items generously donated by members of our congregation.

A big thank you to everyone at First Derry who contributed and helped us support the important work of the Family Justice Centre.
