Parish Mission: Parishioners may have heard that the parish will hold a mission in September of this year. It will be delivered by the Dominican Order. As you know it has been some time since the last Mission in the parish. Whilst members of the Parish Pastoral Group continue to organise it, it would be helpful to have a few interested individuals from each end of the parish to help with the organisation. Time commitment should not be great - a few hours between now and September and some input during the week itself. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a significant event for the parish, and if you are interested, please contact Fr. Crowley.

Viatories Christi: The collection received to date last weekend has been extremely generous, totalling £1,125.04 plus €50. Please convey our heartfelt gratitude to the parishioners for this very substantial contribution to Viatores Christi, which will be a big help to us in our work with our partner projects in some of the poorest communities of our world.

Lough Derg - Parish Pilgrimage: Following a recent survey parishioners indicated that they would like to be part of an organised parish group pilgrimage to Lough Derg. This is a great opportunity to complete the pilgrimage with friends and neighbours. If you are interested, please contact Mary Conway on 07713062823 - or send an email to the parish email address – [email protected] by 23rd June.

Cemetery Sunday: Church Grounds Clean Up: We request interested volunteers in the two cemeteries of our Parish over the coming days to arrange a tidy-up of the cemeteries. If volunteers can bring spades/brushes/wheelbarrows and black refuge bags to clean and tidy our cemeteries in preparation for Cemetery Sunday, it would be much appreciated.

Solemnity of the Body & Blood of Christ - John 6:51-58

In today's Gospel, Jesus reveals the profound gift of the Eucharist: "I am the living bread that came down from heaven." His words challenge His listeners because He speaks not symbolically, but of a real communion with Him through His Body and Blood. Jesus teaches that the Eucharist is the source of eternal life, nourishing us not only spiritually but drawing us into a deeper union with Him.

The people listening to Jesus struggle to understand His words. Yet Jesus does not soften His teaching. Instead, He emphasises that His flesh is true food and His blood is true drink. In these words, the Church recognises the foundation of the Eucharist, where Christ becomes truly present and gives Himself completely for the salvation of the world. Every time we participate in the Mass, we are invited to receive this living Bread from heaven. The Eucharist is not simply a ritual or a symbol; it is an encounter with the risen Lord who nourishes our souls and strengthens us for our journey of faith. In a world that often leaves us spiritually hungry, Jesus offers Himself as the food that satisfies our deepest longing for love, meaning, and eternal life.

This Gospel invites us to reflect on our own appreciation of the Eucharist. Do we approach Holy Communion with faith, reverence, and gratitude? Do we allow the grace we receive at the altar to shape the way we live each day? As we receive Christ, may we become more like Him—people of compassion, sacrifice, and love. May our hearts always hunger for the Bread of Life, and may the Eucharist deepen our union with Christ, who promises, to raise up those who remain faithful to Him, on the last day.

A Prayer for Corpus Christi Jesus, Body and Blood, we are grateful for the gift of your life and the way it strengthens us to live ours. Teach us to draw on the gift of your Body and Blood for energy, renewal, strength and grace. May we never take the gift of your presence for granted. Amen.

Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Gospel John 3:16-18

In today’s Gospel we hear words that are at the very heart of our Christian faith: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son…” These verses remind us that salvation begins not with human effort, but with God’s immense and faithful love. The Father sends His Son into the world not to condemn humanity, but to rescue and restore it through mercy and grace.

Jesus reveals a God who does not turn away from us in our weakness or sin. Instead, He comes close to us, offering forgiveness, healing, and the promise of eternal life. Belief in Christ is more than simply accepting truths about Him; it means entrusting our lives to Him and allowing His light to guide our choices each day.

The Gospel also challenges us to reflect on how we respond to that love. Do we live as people who truly believe we are loved by God? Do our words and actions reflect the compassion and mercy of Christ to others? In a world often marked by fear, division, and judgement, Christians are called to be witnesses of hope, charity, and reconciliation. As we continue our journey of faith, may we open our hearts more fully to the love God freely offers us.

May that love renew our parish community and inspire us to bring Christ’s light to those who are searching for comfort, peace, and hope.

Solemnity of Pentecost Gospel John 20:19-23

The disciples in today’s Gospel are gathered behind locked doors, fearful and uncertain after the events of Good Friday. Their hopes have been shaken, and they are unsure what lies ahead. Yet it is into this atmosphere of fear and confusion that the risen Jesus comes and stands among them. His first words are simple but deeply powerful: “Peace be with you.” Jesus does not scold the disciples for abandoning Him or hiding away. Instead, He brings peace, reassurance, and hope. He shows them His wounds - the marks of His suffering transformed by the Resurrection - reminding them that God’s love is stronger than sin, suffering, and even death itself.

The Lord then breathes the Holy Spirit upon them and sends them out on mission. The frightened disciples are transformed into witnesses of the Gospel, entrusted with sharing God’s mercy and forgiveness with the world. This moment reminds us that the Church is born not from human strength or perfection, but through the gift of the Holy Spirit.

We too can sometimes live behind “locked doors” of fear, anxiety, disappointment, or doubt. Yet the risen Christ continues to come among us, especially in prayer and the sacraments, speaking His words of peace to our hearts. He calls each of us not only to receive His mercy, but also to share it generously with others through compassion, forgiveness, and acts of love. As we reflect on this Gospel, may we open our hearts more fully to the peace of Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to renew us for the mission we each share as His disciples.

Lord God, on this Pentecost Sunday, pour out your Holy Spirit upon the parish family of Errigal. Fill our hearts with your peace, renew us in faith and love, and make us joyful witnesses to the Gospel of Christ. May the fire of the Spirit guide our clergy, families, and young people, bringing unity, hope, and holiness to our community. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
