Reflection – The man who breathes God’s Spirit into us (part)
The Hebrew Bible speaks neither of a Trinity, nor of a God different from the God of the Gospels. It speaks unswervingly of a Father, who alone creates, teaches, liberates, loves and dwells with his people Israel, whom he calls to become his Son.
The Gospels present Jesus as this true Israel, who recognises God as his ‘Father’, and shows the world what it means to be the Son of such a God, most clearly in his death.
After his death, Jesus lives on in those who live as he did, and who show them-selves to be possessed by the same Spirit of sonship that characterised his life.

Mile of Pennies
Although people may not use cash as much as they used to with the advent of card payments, St. John’s is still collecting any pennies (or other small denomination coins you may be able to spare). Labelled jars in which you can save the coins are available at the back of church. If you would like more details about this please see Maralyn. Thank you.
Easy Fundraising
Just a reminder that you can help raise funds for St. John’s by purchasing goods and services through the Easy Fundraising website (www.easyfundraising.org.uk). It is simple to use. Start your online shopping first at easyfundraising, then within that website shop as normal using the app of the shop or services you wish to buy and nominating St. John’s as the charity you wish to receive your donation.
St. John’s has recently a cheque for £18.82 from easyfundraising. Many thanks to all who have contributed to this amount.
Used Postage Stamps for Charity
Pat Gregory continues to support the Bransby Home of Rest for Horses and has asked if people could save used postage stamps and give them to her so she can donate them to this charity. This is a charity that she has supported for many years and there is an on-going appeal for used stamps by the charity. There is a box at the back of church in which your stamps can be placed. Thank you.
