Today marks the end of services at Chellaston Methodist Church. Thank you to all that has joined us over the last couple of weeks. Today has been a fantastic end where our church community have come together to worship one final time in our building.
Whilst we do not know the future of the site moving forwards, what we do know is our congregation will continue to flourish and spread the word locally despite our church closing one final time.

Chellaston Methodist Church would like to thank each and every person in the community who has supported us either by attending services or during one of our many events over the years. Although this is an extremely sad and emotional time, it is also a new chapter. We are sorry that we can no longer serve the community of Chellaston from our church building but our congregation will continue an active role within churches together in Chellaston supporting our Christian mission locally. Thank you for a lovely ending today, memories that we will hold dearly for years to come.

IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING THE CHURCH:-

It is with a heavy heart that we need to bring you sad news about the church. Unfortunately after years of providing services and events in the community of chellaston, we will be closing our doors at the end of September for one last time. After several difficult years of financial pressures it is no longer viable to remain open and the difficult decision has been made to close. As the community are aware, we ceased our bookings offer earlier this year and unfortunately the situation has not improved since this.
This has been an incredibly difficult decision for all involved within the church and is not one that has been taken lightly.
Our small family church has loved serving the community of Chellaston and we hope we have touched the hearts of many over the years. We thank everyone in the community who has attended services and supported our many events over the years. Your support has always been appreciated.

To celebrate the end of our services in Chellaston we have two services upcoming which are open to the community.

Sunday 14th September- this is our official last Sunday service at 10.30am at the church. This is an all age worship.

Sunday 28th September:- United service and celebration. Churches together in Chellaston will be joining together for their monthly united service at the Methodist church. This service will mark the end of services at the church. It will include a celebration afterwards with a light tea where all the church community will be getting together to celebrate and say goodbye to the church. This service starts at 3pm.

We look forward to seeing you at our services between now and the end of September.

Holiday club next week! A couple of spaces are available!

We are pleased to announce our 2025 Holiday Club taking place from 18th-22nd August! We are back with another week of crafts, games, stories, songs and much more!
The week is free to attend, however spaces are limited. Donations welcome.
Registration will open on Friday 23rd May.
To register you will need to email our holiday club email address from Friday onwards. We will then send the registration form out to you.
We look forward to another exciting week!

BOOKINGS ANNOUNCEMENT
Unfortunately we have had to take the difficult decision to cease hiring our room to bookings. We are no longer taking new bookings from today onwards. Any existing bookings / classes will continue for the time being. Anyone who attends classes / groups will be updated by your group leader about plans over the coming weeks.
Unfortunately our church is struggling at this current time and we would like the local community to pray for us whilst we try and navigate the next few months. Our church remains open to the local community at this current time and we will continue to run our weekly Sunday services every Sunday from 10.30am and Sunday school on every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.

Thank you to everyone who attended the fayre today and supported the church. We have managed to raise around £800 which is a fantastic achievement. Thank you for all the generous donations and everyone who came along!
