'And God said,
"This is the sign of the covenant
that I make between me and you
and every living creature that is with you,
for all future generations:
I have set my bow in the cloud,
and it shall be a sign of the covenant
between me and the earth."'

“Think of prayer as a relationship. If you are in a relationship and you don’t have any communication, then that relationship is not going to grow. I think of prayer, clearly, as being in the acknowledged presence of God and in relationship with God.”

- Archbishop Desmond Tutu

I popped into Derby Cathedral today to see Helios, which is here in Derby until Saturday 31st October - please do go in and take a look, marvel at the Ceeation, our common home, and the relative size of the earth to the sun.

You always get a warm welcome in the cathedral, and I am grateful for the friendship between our parish and the cathedral community!

Pope Leo XIV’s doctors have confirmed that the tumor removed on October 13 was a lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized.

Dr. Luigi Carbone and Professor Stefano Margaritora said on Wednesday evening that a subsequent oncological assessment has confirmed that “no further treatment is necessary.”

This weekend is the one hundredth World Mission Sunday. We are all called to be missionaries, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our words, our actions and the example of our daily lives. As Pope Leo XIV put it, ‘No baptised person is exempt from mission.’
