Inspire Workshops

Inspire Workshops Inspire Workshops has been an enthusiastic Derby-based Christian charity, passionate about presenting Christian R.E.

to primary school children in dynamic and innovative ways, for 20 years up until March 2024 when the charity closed. Inspire plan and deliver tailored workshops that explore aspects of the Christian faith in lively, interactive and creative ways. We challenge children's thinking, stimulate questions and provide opportunities to explore answers on questions of faith. We at Inspire believe we are a

useful resource in the delivery of the R.E. curriculum and come highly recommended by teachers and heads across the City and Shire.

26th March - A final farewell

As Inspire Workshops closes its doors at the end of March 2024, we give thanks to God for the amazing honour and privilege it has been to be a part of his Kingdom work here in Derby and Derbyshire primary schools.
Having between us, as varying teams over the years, touched the lives of over 16,000 children and their teachers -- plus maybe a few parents too - we pray:
Loving God, you hold all things in life
and call us into your kingdom of peace;
help us to walk the path of your truth
and fill our lives with gratitude and faith,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

And, as we come to the end of being Inspire together, for whatever the future holds, we also pray:
May God the Father prepare our journey,
Jesus the Son guide our footsteps,
The Spirit of Life strengthen our body,
The Three in One watch over us,
on every road that we may follow.

16th March - Celebrating 20 years!

It was wonderful today to meet with past & present team, trustees and supporters to celebrate 20 years of Inspire Workshops operating as a charity in Derby & Derbyshire.
Inspire grew out of seeking God in prayer and, as a small group
of interested people met regularly to pray together, God prompted one of our prayer supporters at the time, saying: “Seed scattering is what you are doing; keep doing that among teachers and R.E. coordinators …”
This has been a thematic link across Inspire’s history: that seeds of God’s love and His kingdom, have been scattered in children’s - and their teachers and T.A.’s - lives. Our prayer has always been that God’s spirit would water those seeds and that there would be fruit for His kingdom.

14th March - Easter Walk Thru, one last time!

So today marked the final workshop Inspire is to deliver in primary schools in Derby. Fittingly we ended as we began - with an Easter Walk Thru celebration.
The Year 1 children of 2024 enjoyed dressing up and waving palm branches to welcome ‘King Jesus’ into Jerusalem as much as those of 2004 had done!
Thankyou to all the schools who have welcomed Inspire through their doors in the past 20 years - especially those who have encouraged the Team to deliver their favourite workshops Easter workshops:- Easter Skies, Symbolic Foods & Symbols of Love.

Our last workshop with Year 5’s “If God is everywhere -why go to a place of worship?” We explored what Christian worship really is and also what do we mean by the word church? The children were challenged to think about the fact that collectively we are a “body” with each person bringing their own skills and gifts and each is vital to the “body”. Take a look at some of their thinking-amazing!! Could you name your gifts God has blessed you with to share with others??
