بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

Assalāmu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

Tomorrow is the day of Ashura, one of the greatest voluntary fasts in the year, a day on which Allah wipes away a full year of minor sins for the one who fasts sincerely. It arrives with its own light and mercy, inviting the believer to step forward with hope and humility.

Across the country people will be sheltering from the record breaking heat, drawing their curtains and slowing their pace. Yet among them will be those who choose to fast, quietly and without announcement, carrying their thirst with patience because the virtue of this day is too precious to miss.

There is something uniquely beautiful about worship performed in hardship. The early Muslims understood this well. They would speak about the sweetness of fasting on the hottest days, describing it as a hidden treasure and a sign of a heart that longs for the reward of the Hereafter. Some would even seek out the days of intense heat, remembering the thirst of the Day of Resurrection and hoping that their small sacrifice in this world would shield them on that Day.

Ashura this year arrives wrapped in heat and difficulty, yet also wrapped in forgiveness and divine kindness. Those who fast tomorrow will do so with quiet resolve, trusting that Allah sees every moment of thirst and every intention that flickers in the heart.

Fast ending - 9:40pm

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Hāji Abdul Khaliq رحمه الله تعالى in Pakistan; the honourable father of our dear Imām, Hafiz Jhangir Ahmed Qadri Sahib.

‎إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

Haji Abdul Khaliq was a noble, sincere, and widely respected individual who spent his entire life with faith, dedication, and integrity.

May Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ forgive the shortcomings of the deceased. May he accept the goodness he spread throughout his life and grant him a lofty station in paradise.

May Allāh grant sabr to Hāfiz Sāhib and his entire family during these difficult times and enable them to stay strong.

Janaza and burial will take place tomorrow in their home village of Kaneda, Behmla, AJK.
