السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Khan Mulk, of Village Hyderabad and formerly of Sopera, brother of Zulfiqar Ali (St James Road), father of Hassan Khan (Fairtrade Construction), Faisal Khan (Birmingham) and Harris Khan, brother-in-law of Yassir and Khizar Mahmood, uncle of Asim and Ifraheim Khan, and cousin of Mohammed Iqbal (Peartree Carpets), has returned to his Lord in Pakistan.

إِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

May Allah سبحانه وتعالى forgive his shortcomings and, through the intercession of the Noble Prophet ﷺ, grant him Jannatul Firdaus as his eternal abode, and bestow his family with immense sabr during this very difficult time. Ameen.

The family will be receiving visitors for Fatiha and condolences from 11:00am today, Sunday 31st May, and tomorrow, Monday 1st June, at:

Assalāmu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

Announcement for Sisters

As part of our ongoing commitment to Honour and maintain The House of Allah in the best possible condition - Renovation works have been taking place at Holmes st, Sisters Wudhu area/ toilets for the last 2 weeks and will be completed in the next few days In-sha Allah

Some of the essential works that are taking place:

Ceiling repairs
Painting
Tilling
Toilet repairs
Pipework rearranged
New pipe boxing
Tap repairs

Sisters who need to use the facilities are kindly requested to use the ground floor toilet or the sisters wudhu area on the 3rd floor (lift accessible) during this time.

The downstairs toilet will be upgraded once the work upstairs is completed In-sha Allah

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your support and understanding.

We ask Allah ﷻ to place barakah in this renovation project, make it easy for all involved.

Please keep the project and everyone involved in your Duas.

Please note: The car park will be closed at Derby Jamia Masjid and Village st Masjid to the vehicles.
[ If you would like to pray in the car park then please bring your personal Musalla ]

• Please walk to the Masjid ( if possible) but If you need to drive to the Masjid then please park your vehicles sensibly, without blocking driveways, entrances to businesses and the roads.

SUNNAHS OF EĪD UL-ADHĀ

1. To rise early

2. To use miswāk

3. To have a Sunnah bath

4. To dress in one’s best clothes in an Islamic manner

5. To use ‘itr

6. To avoid eating before the Eīd Salāh

7. To go early for Eīd Salāh

8. To go walking for Eīd Salāh

9. To read the Takbīrāt of Tashrīq in a loud voice while going for Eid Salāh

10. To use different routes to and from the Masjid

🚨 IMPORTANT REMINDER 🚨

Beginning immediately after Fajr tomorrow, the Takbir al-Tashreeq becomes wajib after every Fardh Salah. Don’t let these blessed days pass without reviving this beautiful sunnah of Dhul Hijjah.

“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La Ilaha Illallahu Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa Lillahil Hamd.”

📅 From: Fajr, Tue 26th May 2026 (9th Dhul Hijjah)
📅 Until: Asr, Sat 30th May 2026 (13th Dhul Hijjah)

⚠️ Recite it at least once after every Fardh prayer

Men will need to recite it loudly while women should recite softly
