*UPDATE – Nottingham Road Cemetery 27 May*

Assalamu Alaikum,

Quick update on the cemetery notice we sent for Wednesday 27 May 2026.

Derby Bereavement Services have now moved the large funeral to Wednesday 20th May.

*This means there are NO access issues expected on Wednesday 27 May – the likely day of Eid al-Adha.*

Please ignore the earlier message about avoiding the cemetery between 11am-1:30pm on 27th May.

Subject: Nottingham Road Cemetery Access – Wednesday 27 May 2026

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

We have been notified by Derby Bereavement Services that a large funeral will take place at Nottingham Road Cemetery on Wednesday 27 May 2026 at 11:30am.

This date coincides with the likely day of Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Adha is expected to begin on the evening of Tuesday 26th May 2026, with the day of Eid likely falling on Wednesday 27th May. The three days of Eid will continue until Friday 29th May, subject to the sighting of the moon.

Due to the expected large attendance and families travelling from out of area, the cemetery anticipates significant congestion.

To help manage access and show respect to all bereaved families:

1. Please avoid visiting the cemetery between 11:00am and 1:30pm on Wednesday 27 May unless necessary
2. If you are visiting, please allow additional time for parking and follow instructions from cemetery staff
3. Consider car sharing where possible

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this busy period.
