PARISH LIVESTREAM FACILITY

Unfortunately, the livestream facility in St Mary's Church is not working, for which I apologise most sincerely.

Sunday Mass from Christ the King Church, one of our three parish churches, can be viewed from shortly after it is celebrated at 5.30 pm each Saturday at https://www.youtube.com/ This means that Sunday Mass will continue to be streamed from our parish each Sunday - the 5.30 pm is the Vigil Mass and therefore a Sunday Mass - an is accessible to everyone.

I am in discussion with a company that provides PA and livestream facilities to install new equipment in St Mary's Church, and so I hope that a new livestream facility for the parish - which will be on YouTube and not here Facebook so that it will be more easily available, and will used fixed cameras with a feed straight into it from the PA system, will be installed as soon as the necessary permissions have been received. This will enhance our online ministry, a development to which I am totally committed as parish priest.

This week I was asked by Bp Patrick to relocate as PP to Buxton, Chapel en le Frith, New Mills and Marple Bridge. I have loved my time here in Derby, and will be very sad to leave you all, and cannot Thank you enough for all the love and support that you have given me. The changes will happen in September. My successor is Canon Andrew Cole presently PP in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham. I am sure that you will give him the same support that i have enjoyed these last six and a half years. The Dean of Derby Cathedral writes: Ukraine Anniversary Prayer Vigil. Derby Cathedral on Sunday 26th February. We are inviting members of the public to join us, and during the vigil there will be contributions from representatives from Derby and Derbyshire's diverse faith communities. The service will start at 2.00 pm and finish at 3.00 pm, with an opportunity to write a message of hope or light a candle after the service.

There is a Ukraine Peace Procession, entitled ‘365 Days of War’, which is taking place on Friday 24th February. The candlelit procession will begin at Cathedral Green at 6.00 pm, and process down to the Market Place at 6.30 pm. The procession will come back up Iron Gate and finish outside the Cathedral tower. The Cathedral will be open to members of the public from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm for quiet prayer and reflection, or to light a candle.
