As our volunteers have been to empty the bins on the John Flamstead Memorial Park, we have been disappointed and quite infuriated to find that someone has decided to take the trouble to carry a bag of rubble to dump at the park, rather than disposing of their waste at the proper amenities. These bins, are for general waste, doggy bags etc, just to help keep the area clean and tidy. It is not a dumping ground for people to use.
We are checking our CCTV, but if this is you, please refrain from such selfish acts in future!!!!!😡😡

We have some new members on our Parish Council and feel that our team is now stronger and more determined to make our Parish a wonderful place to live. Lots more ideas are being put out there and the team (new and old) are working hard to make improvements. Watch this space, for updates ,but today we've been out clearing, cleaning and planting. It's just the start!!!!!!!

The Bus Stop on Rykneild Hill has been cleared, cut back and tidied up.
The memorial planters have been weeded, topped up and planted.
The CCTV system has been serviced and set up so we can hopefully catch those few pesky folk, who may want to spoil things for the rest of us.

If you haven't done so already, please follow the link below to sign the petition to save Denby Pottery.
10,000 signatures are needed for the government to respond and 100,000 are needed for it to be considered for debate in parliament. Currently, there are 63,500 signatures.

It takes a few seconds and could really make a difference to our community, so please sign and share.

Thank you

We need your help to sign the "Support the Ceramics Industry" petition created by the campaign.

The Government Petitions Committee has now approved the petition for a review of the 'Supercharger' scheme to include ceramics manufacturers. The scheme provides relief to energy intensive businesses in the UK and inclusion in this would help cut soaring industrial energy costs and support ceramics businesses.

Whilst Denby’s future is still uncertain, we truly believe that if every person who has supported so far could sign, then this could make a huge difference for the UK ceramics industry as a whole.

Ways that you can help:
- Sign the petition here: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/764785 (we need 10,000 signatures for the government to respond)
- Tag your friends in the comments and spread the word about the petition.

Thank you for all of your support for our Ceramics Industry as well as for Denby.

Another disappointing image has been sent to us. This time, flytipping on the lane by the institute. Please, have some respect, when it comes to disposing of your rubbish. Again, totally unfair, totally unacceptable.

We have had disappointing footage sent to us over the weekend, which we feel it is important to share. There are miles of fabulous footpaths around our parish for us all to enjoy. Many of these run through private land, which is used for farming and grazing. Surely, it is common decency to ensure that the animals in those fields, and the people who dedicate their lives to their wellbeing are respected?

This group of walkers, clearly leave this gate open. It's not the first time. It has a spring and a latch and clear signage asking people to close it. There are 8 rescue horses in this particular field and leaving this gate open puts them and potentially other people in real danger.

So, when out and about, enjoying the stunning walks Denby Parish has to offer, please have some respect and decency for the animals and people who depend on them.

Another fabulous local event for Easter.
