Looking for something more than religion – a faith that feels alive?

At Home Church (also known as Church in the Pub), we’re discovering the Jesus of the Bible – the Son of God who came to bring freedom, joy and real abundance.

We’re a small, friendly group from Ockbrook and Borrowash who gather every second Monday at 8pm in the Royal Oak pub. Over a drink, we share stories, laugh together and explore how faith can genuinely make a difference to everyday life in 2024.

Our group includes people from all walks of life – from those already part of other churches but wanting to go deeper, to those just beginning to ask questions about what they believe.

Our passion is simple: to experience the real Jesus – the one who promised that following him would lead to life in all its fullness.

💬 Want to give it a try? Call Mark or Kerry on 01332 735843, message this page, or check out our Events section for upcoming dates.

Does God REALLY speak to us? Check out this story from our last Church in the Pub to find out the answer!

One of the attendees had a dilemma he wanted praying for - but instead of him revealing what it was, we asked God for the answer first.

In other words... the answer before we knew the question!

And, as we hoped, God spoke. A picture appeared in the mind of one of our leaders and they spoke it out.

It was the solution to the dilemma!

We meet at 8pm every second Monday. Check out our Facebook events for future gatherings.

When was the last time you prayed for a broken appliance?

Or your non-starting car?

We heard so many stories during our last Church in the Pub about how we’d invited Jesus into all sorts of situations - and how he turned up. Including fixing a fridge and a car.

Then there was the story of how the 11-year-old daughter of one of us said she didn’t want to go to athletics because she hadn’t made any friends yet.

Her dad prophesied she would make a friend that week and she would be called Zara. (He had never been to athletics and knew nobody’s names).

So imagine her joy when she made a new friend that week and her name was…. Sara.

(We can cope with it being one letter out!)

Find out how Jesus wants to get involved in your life at Church in the Pub next Monday.

8pm at The Royal Oak.

Another lovely evening of Church in the Pub where we chatted about how being child-like when it comes to Jesus, opens the door to him having much more impact in our lives.

As we talked, one of our guests, John experienced pain in one of his arms. He prayed for the pain to go and it did so immediately. A great example of child-like faith - asking Jesus for something and expecting him to care enough to answer immediately.

Our next Church in the Pub is on Monday 10 February at The Royal Oak, starting at 8pm.

If you want to know the Jesus of the Bible - the son of God who came to give us a life of freedom and abundance, then Home Church could be for you.

We are a small group of people from Ockbrook and Borrowash who meet most Mondays at 8pm to chat, discuss, encourage and pray for each other. We expect the Holy Spirit to move in our meetings and lives - and he does!

Our group is a mix of people who already attend other churches but want more, to those who only go to Home Church.

We believe people often grow in their faith so much faster when in a small, committed group - which is what Home Church is.

Our passion is to make disciples who will see a difference in their lives and the lives of those around them.

Call Mark or Kerry on 01332 735843, message through this page or check out our Events section for the schedule of gatherings.

Healing in the pub!

What an awesome start to 2023 for one of our regulars during a visit to a local pub.

They got chatting to someone they knew from the village who had been unable to work for several months with terrible back pain.

"It's sciatica," she explained and when asked to score the pain, gave it a ten-out-of-ten.

The Home Church member asked if they could pray for the pain to go, the villager said yes, and then and there in the middle of the pub, they commanded the back pain to leave!

"How is it now?" they asked. The villager said the pain had reduced to a five-out-of-ten, so they prayed again.

Minutes later, the pain had gone!

"How did you do that?!" exclaimed the villager, as she walked around the pub pain free.

Now THAT's the power of Jesus!

What are you grateful for? And how can Lego help?!?

During our last Sunday family gathering we all built something to represent what we were thankful for in our lives.

And then we praised Jesus for his amazing favour!

Before tucking into a delicious meal!

We are meeting today again at 4.30pm. Everyone (and we mean, everyone) welcome.
