It was so lovely to be back together at St Mary’s this morning after the summer holidays! ❤️

Today was our first All Age Worship service after the summer break, and it was a particularly special one as we kicked off our new sermon series:

Living Like Jesus: Faith That Can Be Seen — A Journey Through James

We began by looking at James 1:1–18 and thinking about how God can help us grow through trials — whatever our age or whatever we might be facing.

It was wonderful to worship together as a church family, with all ages joining in.

Yesterday we celebrated Father's Day together.

As part of our ongoing sermon series, "To Know Jesus and Make Him Known," we explored the theme "Jesus: The Gateway to Heaven" through readings from John's Gospel.

We gave thanks for fathers, grandfathers and all the men who encourage, support and care for others, while also reflecting on the love of our Heavenly Father who welcomes us as His children through Jesus Christ.

It was wonderful to gather as a church family for worship, fellowship and Holy Communion, and to recognise the men of our congregation with a small Father's Day gift.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandads and father figures in our community. May you know God's blessing, peace and love.

Today, we officially welcomed Rev. Gilbert David, along with his wife Uzma, to be our new incumbent (Rector) at St. Mary's, Haughton Green.
The Bishop of Manchester, Rt. Rev. Dr. David Walker licensed Gilbert to minister in our wonderful community. Thank you to all who came to witness and welcome our new minister, especially our new member of parliament, Hannah Spencer. We look forward to seeing how God will lead us on into this new, exciting chapter in our 150th anniversary year.
