๐Ÿ™ Praying for Dawlish ๐Ÿ™

Tuesday 1st September
๐Ÿ•› 12:00โ€“1:00pm
๐Ÿ“ Dawlish Methodist Church

As a new month begins, let's come together to pray for Dawlish and the surrounding communities.

Come for the whole hour, or just for as long as you're able. Whether you're used to praying with others or it's something quite new to you, you'll be very welcome.

As we prepare our hearts, let's come with humilityโ€”hands open to God, ready to offer ourselves to Him and ready to receive whatever He wants to place on our hearts.

Perhaps take a few moments beforehand to ask:
๐Ÿ’ญ Lord, what are You already doing in our community?
๐Ÿ’ญ Who or what would You have us pray for?
๐Ÿ’ญ How can we join in with what You're doing?

2 Corinthians 5:20
"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us."

We'd love you to join us as we seek God's heart for Dawlish together. โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒŸ The Greatest Story Ever Told at Dawlish Carnival! ๐ŸŒŸ

What a truly wonderful evening we had taking part in the Dawlish Carnival procession! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our float told the story of Jesusโ€™ birth, His death on the cross and His resurrection โ€” sharing a message of hope, love and new life with our community. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿฉต

A huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to design and build the float, created costumes and props, walked with us and helped bring the story to life. From angels and disciples to Roman soldiers, everyone looked absolutely brilliant โ€” and had plenty of fun along the way! ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿชฝ

A very special mention and heartfelt thank you to Alison Pengelly from Alisonโ€™s Florist Dawlish for generously allowing us to use her field for carnival preparation lending us the trailer and driving us safely through the procession. We simply couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you also to everyone who cheered, waved and encouraged us along the route, and to Dawlish Celebrates Carnival for organising another fantastic week of events!

We were even blessed with a beautiful rainbow before the procession โ€” the perfect finishing touch to a very special evening! ๐ŸŒˆ

Carnival is a wonderful reminder that we were made to celebrate. We love laughter, music, friendship, and belonging because those things reflect something deeper about the God who made us.

But while the bunting comes down and the music fades, we all still long for something that lasts.

So perhaps, somewhere between the procession, the fancy dress, the races and the conversations this week, simply ask yourself:

What am I really celebrating... and is there something my heart is still searching for?

If there is, why not whisper this simple prayer:

Sometimes the biggest discoveries begin with the smallest questions.

๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿชจ Seaside Rock โ€“ Whoโ€™s Your Rock? ๐Ÿชจ๐ŸŒŠ

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Seaside Rock on Sunday evening! It was wonderful to come together for an uplifting evening of singing, worship, prayer, Bible stories and fellowship.

We also decorated pebbles with special messages to share around our communityโ€”so keep your eyes peeled while youโ€™re out and about in Dawlish! You may discover an encouraging message lovingly created by someone who joined us on Sunday. ๐Ÿชจ๐Ÿ’›

And donโ€™t forget the Dawlish Carnival Procession this Friday! If you would like to join us and take part, we would love to have you with us.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make Seaside Rock such a lovely and memorable evening! ๐ŸŽต๐Ÿ™โœจ

The things we cannot see.

We often think of poverty as not having enough money, food or material things.

But poverty can also mean lacking what we need to flourish.

There can be poverty of relationship, belonging, emotional well-being, hope, purpose โ€” and spiritual connection.

Today we pray for everyone in Dawlish who is carrying something others cannot see.

And if youโ€™ve never really prayed before, why not try this:

โ€œGod, please show yourself to me.โ€

What kinds of poverty do you see around you that we donโ€™t talk about enough? ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ™
