Tragic news today, all those affected are in our thoughts and prayers x

“I was shocked to hear the heartbreaking news of this morning’s fatal collision on the A66. My heart and prayers, along with those of churches across our town, go out to everyone involved and to all whose lives have been changed forever by this devastating crash.

“Words are inadequate, but we pray that all those affected, including those who serve in our emergency services, may know God’s presence and love.”

A warm and busy foodbank today, where we had 40 people collecting food bags from our fab team of volunteers. Grateful thanks for all donations - if you are able to donate, we would be particularly grateful for donations of tinned fruit this week.

We are delighted to announce that St Andrew's has been awarded the Eco Church A Rocha Bronze Award! This award scheme recognises the efforts of churches to care for God's creation by living more sustainably and taking practical action across 5 key areas. Join us tomorrow morning at 10am for a very special service of Holy Communion as we say goodbye to Revd Mark East and his family after nearly 14 years leading St Andrew’s Church!
We are delighted to welcome Bishop of Durham Rt Revd Rick Simpson to preach during this special service. There will be cake and fizz in the hall afterwards.
