Harrowgate Hill Christian Fellowship

Harrowgate Hill Christian Fellowship ‘Serving at the heart of Harrowgate Hill’ Our Pastor, leadership team and volunteer helpers care deeply about making a difference.

We’re a local church, in that most of those who attend, live in the area and therefore have a personal connection and commitment to Harrowgate Hill. Through worship, practical teaching and fellowship, we seek to equip our members – so that we can help meet local needs. While we do have links with the local community, we also seek to meet the needs of those further afield: Local church, big vision.

We believe that every individual is important and has a contribution to make – if they are willing to fulfil and realise their potential. Our activities cater from the youngest to the oldest, and provide a friendly environment in which friendship and faith have opportunity to grow.

Wondering what to do in life? Looking for direction? Inquire of the Lord, and then do what He says!

2 Samuel 2:1-4 In the course of time, David inquired of the Lord. “Shall I go up to one of the towns of Judah?” he asked.
The Lord said, “Go up.”
David asked, “Where shall I go?”
“To Hebron,” the Lord answered.

Listen carefully to Godly people - you never know when you might get some good advice!

Exodus 18:13-23
The next day Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people, and they stood around him from morning till evening. When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he said, “What is this you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge, while all these people stand around you from morning till evening?”
Moses answered him, “Because the people come to me to seek God’s will. Whenever they have a dispute, it is brought to me, and I decide between the parties and inform them of God’s decrees and instructions.”
Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone. Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative before God and bring their disputes to him. Teach them his decrees and instructions, and show them the way they are to live and how they are to behave. But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. Have them serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you. If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied.”

We all need help in the battle - don’t live your Christian life alone.
When in the battle, that is not the time to withdraw from church life, but to get the help you need.

Exodus 17: 10-13 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

Do as God commands and see God act.

Exodus 12:50-51: All the Israelites did just what the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron. And on that very day the Lord brought the Israelites out of Egypt...
