*Kirpaan Awareness & Community Guidance*

As the Kirpaan is currently receiving increased public attention, we kindly ask the Sikh Sangat and wider Panth to remain mindful when wearing a Kirpaan, particularly in public spaces.

The Kirpaan remains an important article of faith for initiated Amritdhari Sikhs who follow the Sikh Rehat Maryada and an Amritdhari lifestyle. There is no reason for individuals who are not Amritdhari, or not practising towards an Amritdhari lifestyle, to wear a Kirpaan.

To help avoid misunderstanding and unnecessary concern, please consider the following:

- Wear your Kirpaan discreetly and avoid openly displaying it in public
• Be mindful in workplaces, schools, universities, transport hubs, and similar settings
• Larger Kirpaans (e.g. 3-foot Kirpaans) should remain within Gurdwaras or Sikh spaces unless necessary
• Be aware of local policies and prepared to respectfully explain the Kirpaan if required

As a community, we all share responsibility in upholding our faith with wisdom, care, and awareness.
