Cuthbert's Church lies at the centre of the town next to the Market Place. The church building dates from 1180, although the site has been the focus of Christian worship and witness for over a thousand years. Cuthbert's congregation is made up of people living throughout the town and beyond. We are proud of our choral tradition and fine organ, which are put to use every Sunday at our 11am service
of Sung Eucharist and on the second Saturday of the month at our 5pm service of Choral Evensong. The church is also open for our 10:30am service of Holy Communion on Wednesdays. We aim to open our doors to visitors who have an interest in the history and heritage of the building 11am-1pm Tuesday-Saturday from Easter to September. We seek to extend a warm welcome to everyone who steps through our doors. The Parochial Church Council of St Cuthbert's, Darlington, is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for everyone, especially for children, young people and vulnerable adults. It has adopted and approved the Church of England policy for promoting a safer church. This policy deals with all aspects of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
