How the heavenly Father must shake His head and smile ruefully at His children! We hold so tightly to things we can see and hear and taste and feel and smell right here and now, when all along, He is planning to give us things that "no erye has seen, no ear has heard". His blessings for us are going way beyond our wildest imaginations.

True peace is like seeing God face to face, an experience so moving, so awesome, so terrifying in a way that I'm not sure on this earth, we can stand more than the glimpses we receive.
My experience, however, is that peace is worth praying for every day. The struggle is always worth it. God's peacemakes holy our relationship with others, with ourselves and with the Almighty.

The Hebrew word for salvation means to make wide, to make sufficient. Jesus is so spacious that Eugene Peterson says, "All of God fits within Him without crowding." We fit in Him as well, with all our brokenness, our frail egos, our thumb sucking immaturity and coddled fears. We are in Him who is spacious with wholeness, health and vitality.

It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
