A Season of Change: Parents in Prayer

As the school term draws to a close, many of our local children are preparing to finish primary school and take their next big steps. This is a significant season of transition for families in our community.

We want to surround these young people with our support and lift them up in prayer.

Please join us this Friday, 19th June at 2:10pm in the Loanends Presbyterian Church Hall.

Who is it for? Parents, grandparents, and anyone who cares for the children and future of Loanends Primary School.

How do we pray? Come exactly as you are. There is no pressure to speak. Whether you prefer to pray aloud or silently in your heart, your presence is a great encouragement.

Bringing children? A full children’s programme runs alongside the prayer time, so you can join in fully.

Safeguarding Reminders
Looking after the children and young people in our community is a vital part of our care as a church family. If you are involved in any of our youth or children’s ministries, please remember to bring your AccessNI forms and identification documents with you to church this Sunday. A member of the team will be available to verify your ID immediately after the morning service.

Training Update
A reminder also that if you have not attended safeguarding training within the last three years, an upcoming session is being held at High Street, Antrim. Keeping this training current helps us maintain a safe, welcoming environment for everyone across the parish. Thank you for your continued commitment to the safety of our young people.

There is something deeply encouraging about seeing a community come together, sharing a bit of time and good company on a Saturday afternoon. Tomorrow, Saturday 6th June, we are opening the gates for our Loanends Summer Fete and Charity Road Run, and we would love to see you there.

Whether you have lived in the area for generations or you are relatively new to this corner of the world, please know you are entirely welcome. It is a completely relaxed day, built simply around the joy of good neighbours, a bit of shared fun, and supporting local causes.

Everything kicks off at 12 noon, and we have a full afternoon planned for all ages. If you are out and about, please do drop in, grab a bite to eat, and say hello.

What's Happening:

Tractor & Car Run: A wonderful line-up of local vintage and modern vehicles.

Family Fun: Children’s activities, games, and dog agility demonstrations.

Stalls & Food: Plenty of local stalls to browse and delicious food available throughout the afternoon.

Details: Saturday 6th June from 12 noon at Loanends Presbyterian. Feel free to share this with anyone down the road who might fancy a wander over tomorrow.

While we look after our own families and neighbours here in our local corners, it is worth remembering that we belong to a much larger global family. Scripture reminds us in Romans 12 to "rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." Next week, we have an opportunity to stand with part of that church family that is currently facing immense hardship.

We are gathering to pray for Christians around the world who face severe hardship and persecution for their faith. A representative from Open Doors will be joining us to share recent updates, helping us understand how we can best offer our support and guide our prayers for their protection and endurance.

Whether you pray regularly, or simply want to come along to listen and show your support for those suffering overseas, you will be very welcome.

Folks, we are looking for a little bit of help.

Our Connected Youth group is hoping to take our young people on a day trip to Portrush this summer.

We are wondering if anyone could signpost us to a local group or church that rents out their minibus for a reasonable fee?

Any recommendations or contacts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help.

What a brilliant second gathering of 'Connected Youth' on Saturday night! The hall was full of life, laughter, and some truly chaotic games.

We tucked into a fantastic supper from the Arcade chippie before settling down to hear from Zara. She shared so honestly about the real, steadfast difference Jesus makes in our everyday lives.

Keep an eye on our page for details of the next one-we would love to welcome your teenagers along!

It was a real encouragement to gather and pray for our local farmers at our last themed meeting. There’s something special about coming together to support the heartbeat of our rural community.

Our next meeting is this Thursday 21st May at 8:00 PM. This time, we’ll be lifting up the upcoming Holiday Bible Club, our 'Connected' youth, and the folk serving on our Kirk Session and Committee.

Whether you’re a regular or just live down the road, you’d be so welcome to join us for a quiet hour of prayer and fellowship.
