It is a real encouragement to see the friendships and connections building among our young people over these last few months.

There is a great sense of community growing, and our next Connected Youth event is always a highlight of the summer calendar.
On Friday 3rd July 2026, we are heading off for our annual summer day trip to Portrush for a day of fresh sea air at the beach and some fun at Curry's. It is open to all young people from P7 age and up, and we would love to have them join us for the day.

Because we want to ensure everyone travels safely, spaces on the bus are limited. If your teenager or a young person down the road would like to come along, please make sure to get their sign-up form completed as soon as possible so they don't miss out.

Key Details:
Date: Friday 3rd July 2026
Time: Meeting at Killead Church Hall at 11:00 am
Who: All young people in P7+
Cost: £10 per person (plus some extra change for Curry's if they wish)
What to bring: A packed lunch
You can find all the details and the QR code for registration on the flyer image attached below

While we look after our own families and neighbours here at home, it is worth remembering that we belong to a much larger global family. Scripture reminds us in Romans 12 to "rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." Next week, we have an opportunity to stand with part of that family that is currently facing immense hardship.

We are gathering to pray for Christians around the world who face severe hardship and persecution for their faith. A representative from Open Doors will be joining us to share recent updates from the ground, helping us understand how we can best offer our support and guide our prayers for their protection and endurance.

Whether you pray regularly, or simply want to come along to listen and show your support for those suffering overseas, you will be very welcome.

Event Details:

Date: Thursday 5th June

Time: 8:00 PM

Location: Loanends Presbyterian Church

Arrangement: Everyone is welcome

We are planning a summer day trip to Portrush for our Connected Youth group, and we are looking for a little assistance.

Could anyone point us in the direction of a local church, organisation, or community group that rents out a minibus for a reasonable fee?

If you know of any available options or have a contact you could share, we would be very grateful for your help.

Thank you so much.

It can be hard to pause from the busyness of life. But gathering to pray for our church family is always time well spent.

Join us tonight at 8:00 PM at Loanends Presbyterian as we seek God’s grace for the work of our church.

We will be praying for our Kirk Session and Committee, and hearing updates on the Holiday Bible Club and Connected Youth.
We are also looking forward to welcoming Chris Brown, community outreach worker from First Antrim, to share with us.

If you are tied up tonight and unable to travel out, please do remember these needs in prayer from home. All are very welcome.

Saturday night’s Connected Youth was an absolute cracker! Between the chair-balancing challenges and the pool noodle games, it was great to see the church hall so full of energy.

A massive thanks to the Arcade chippy for the food—it went down a treat—and a special thanks to Zara. She wrapped up the evening beautifully, pointing us towards the steadfast grace of Jesus and the real difference He makes to us all.

We’re already planning the next one, so watch this space!

It is always a highlight of our year, and simply a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old neighbours and make a few new friends over a cup of tea.

We’ve really valued our recent themed prayer meetings, especially our last one focusing on our local farmers. For us, these evenings aren't about formal ritual; we simply want to encourage what God is already doing in our community and look forward to what He may do next. That is truly what our prayer times are about.

We would love for you to join us as we gather again this Thursday 21st May at 8:00 PM. This time, we’ll be lifting up the life of our own congregation:

Holiday Bible Club: Praying for the children and the many volunteers preparing for a busy week.

Connected Youth: Supporting our young people as they grow and learn.

Our Leadership: Asking for wisdom for the Kirk Session and Committee in their care for the parish.

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think..." — Ephesians 3:20 (ESV)

It is hard to wrap your head around the fact that over 380 million people-families just like ours—face severe hardship today simply for being Christians.

Tomorrow at Killead, we’re taking some time to think about those folks. We’ll be looking at how we can "weep with those who weep" by offering our support, and how we can find the strength to stay faithful to our own path when life gets difficult.

Whether you’re a regular part of the congregation or haven’t been through the doors in years, you’d be so welcome to join us. We start at 12 noon.

Finding Balance in a Digital Age

How do we help our children grow up with wisdom in a world that never seems to switch off?

Whether we are parents, grandparents, or carers, we all want our young people to flourish. Yet, the constant presence of screens and social media can feel like a difficult path to navigate. If you have ever felt a bit overwhelmed by it all, please know you are in good company.

We are hosting an informal gathering at Loanends Presbyterian church hall this Friday, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. We will be joined by Dr Deborah Webster, who will help us think through how to encourage healthy habits with technology. This isn't about rules or judgement; it is about finding practical ways to support our children’s wellbeing and help them grow into resilient, thoughtful adults.

To make it easier for you to join us, a kids club will be running in the hall at the same time.

We would be so grateful if you could register as soon as possible (link below) so we can prepare the hall and the kids club. It promises to be a very helpful hour, and we would love to see you there.
