In this short clip from last Thursday's service, Suzanne explains why she chose to tackle the challenging subject of suffering.

Why does God allow suffering? It's a question that many people wrestle with, and one that Suzanne explores thoughtfully and compassionately in her talk.

To discover how she answers this difficult question, you'll need to watch the full message.

What makes us worthy of Jesus' attention and healing? Is it who we are, what we've done, or something else entirely?

In this week's talk, Suzanne explores Luke 7:1–10 and the faith of the centurion, challenging our assumptions about worthiness and reminding us that faith, trust and belief are at the heart of our relationship with God.

If you're able to join us for one of our daily 10am services, you're in for a real blessing. This week's theme is "The Hope of Glory in Our Hearts", as Sandi explores the beautiful and powerful images of Jesus found in the book of Revelation.

There is still time to come and spend a few days with us. We currently have accommodation available at reduced rates (£100 per night for an en-suite room or £90 per night for a standard room).

Whether you come for a day, a service, or a longer stay, we'd love to welcome you. Give us a call to book – it's not too late!

💚 A Guest's Reflection 💚

"Ever since my first visit to Crowhurst Christian Healing Centre in the 1990s, the pond and the surrounding area have been a special place for me. It has often been a place where I have sensed the closeness of our wonderful God—a place of peace, hope and renewal.

In recent years, as my mobility has deteriorated, it has become difficult for me to get there on my own. But joy of all joys, now that the path has been reopened, I can once again reach this special place and find space to be still with the Lord.

I give thanks to the Lord, and of course, to those who have worked so hard to make this possible."

Thank you, Brenda, for sharing this beautiful testimony. We are delighted that improvements to the path are helping more guests access and enjoy the peaceful spaces around our grounds. May many continue to find moments of stillness, renewal and encounter with God beside the pond.

We are delighted to announce that Rev Andy Kerr will be our guest speaker at Thanksgiving Day on Saturday 4th July.

Andy is currently Managing Chaplain at HMP Ford Prison and has worked for His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service for the past 13 years across Category B, C and D prisons. Through this ministry he has encountered people from many different backgrounds, including those who have committed some of the UK’s most serious offences. In this setting, Andy seeks to live out the Luke 4 manifesto and has witnessed what he describes as “the slow miracle of God’s healing” in many prisoners’ lives.

Before working in prisons, Andy led several Baptist churches, served as chaplain in two secondary schools, delivered cars nationwide, and worked with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. He is married to Traz, who spent 34 years working in the NHS, most recently as Manager of West Sussex Sexual Health Service. Together they have two adult children and a rather elderly Irish Red Setter called Finley.

We would love for you to join us for this special day of thanksgiving, fellowship and encouragement. There is no charge and no need to book, and refreshments and lunch will be provided free of charge.

🙏 11am – Thanksgiving Service (also available via Zoom*)
🎤 Guest speaker: Rev Andy Kerr

🌱 A Harvest from Our Grounds 🌱

We're delighted to be serving our very first crop of home-grown salad leaves at Howard's Well Café today!

The salad includes fresh micro-leaves and onion tops, all grown here at Crowhurst Christian Healing Centre. From seed to plate, it's been wonderful to see this small harvest come to fruition, and we're grateful for God's provision and the blessing of creation.

If you're visiting today, be sure to enjoy some of our freshly picked leaves with your meal. And the good news is – this is just the beginning! There is plenty more growing, and we look forward to sharing future harvests with our guests throughout the season.

"God grieves for our suffering just as deeply as we do".

Why does God allow suffering?

It's a question that many of us have asked, especially during times of pain, loss, or uncertainty.

In her latest talk, Suzanne Owen explores this difficult question through Luke 13:1–13. She reflects on how suffering is often deeply personal and subjective, how God grieves with us in our pain, and what Jesus teaches about suffering and God's heart towards those who are hurting.
