Congratulations to the newly ordained Rev Deacon Mike Dean! It was a beautiful liturgy at the Cathedral attended by Anita and the family, lots of parishioners and Fathers Gus, Irek & Kevin. A wonderful and joyful day. Please keep Rev Deacon Mike in your prayers.

We welcome Fr Stephen as our new Bishop

His Holiness Pope Leo XIV has today appointed Fr Stephen Wang as the new Bishop of Arundel & Brighton Diocese. On hearing of his appointment, Bishop-elect Stephen, said:

“This appointment has come as a huge surprise. I feel a mixture of gratitude and trepidation; an excitement and curiosity about all that lies ahead; and above all, a sense of peace. I’m grateful to Pope Leo for calling me and putting his trust in me, and to Archbishop Moth for all his care for the Diocese over these years. I’m sad to be leaving the Venerable English College, and the Diocese of Westminster. But I am overjoyed at the thought of coming to Arundel & Brighton, getting to know the people, and working together to build God’s Kingdom.”

Today is celebrated by the Church as the Day for Life. If you, or someone you know, has lost a child before birth, there is a beautiful memorial in the graveyard by Arundel Cathedral where their unborn child is remembered. It is a worth recommending as a place for pilgrimage and remembrance.
