Crossgar Youth Fellowship

Crossgar Youth Fellowship meets every Friday night at 8pm. Our aim 'In Christ Alone' is to help young people learn about our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ Alone.

The motto of Crossgar Youth Fellowship reminds us that the direction, certainty and hope of our lives is to be found only in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross of Calvary. We invite you to come along to our regular, relaxed meetings where all young people (age 15+) can explore the Bible’s relevance to their own lives, learn from the experiences of others and enjoy the banter among friends. Above all, find out what it means to fully trust in Christ alone.

CHAMPIONS 🏆

Another W in the Free P Summer League for the boys in orange. A 3-0 victory against Kilkeel last night secured the trophy for a second year running. Goals came from 2 first half wonder free kicks from Callum McVeigh and a late goal in the second half from Benji Hamilton.

Thanks to Mark for organising again this year and we pray that the money raised for the Joy Foundation will be a blessing to those who need it 🙏🏻

This Friday (22nd March) we would encourage the youth fellowship to attend the foundations conference at 8pm in Crossgar FPC. The topic on Friday is on ‘Encouragment for the sojourner’. You would be made very welcome!

This Friday (26th January at 8pm) we are having a special presentation of a mission trip to Kenya from some of our own youth fellowship who went out with Friends of VisPa. It would be great to have yous along to hear about the work they did for God out in Africa and how they impacted the Kenyan lives but also how it impacted them as well. Food and fellowship to follow after as always!

This Friday (8th December), meeting for 6pm, we are going Carol Singing around some of the members of Crossgar FPC congregation. It is always a good night to glorify God through singing of the real reason for Christmas. Hope yous all can make it!

EPIC!

Encouraging People In Christ (EPIC) is back this Friday 1st December for a games night. It is starting at 7pm sharp in Crossgar War Memorial Hall and finishing at 8:30pm with hot food and snacks to follow in the Church after. There will be a selection of games (not just football) like indoor hockey, volleyball, dodgeball and more. Yous are all more than welcome and bring others along too!

Join us this Friday (24th Nov) at 8pm as Answers in Genesis will be coming to Crossgar FPC to speak on the topic of ‘Answering Atheism’.

This week the church are having a special guest to speak on this very relevant topic. There are many who don’t believe in God, which is why it is so important for Christians to have an answer for their faith, especially in this day and age.

There will be food and fellowship to follow as always for the Youth. See you there 🙏🏻

We’re kicking off Youth Fellowship in Crossgar FP Church this Friday 13th October at 8pm with a games night to settle in old and hopefully new faces! You are more than welcome, bring family and friends, to enjoy a good night of fun and fellowship with Christ at the centre! As always, munchies will be provided 😁 looking forward to it!

FPC Summer League CHAMPIONS 🥇

Crossgar Free (2) vs (1) Magherafelt Free

A fairytale ending for the boys in orange. Crossgar had a very good start with a superb worked goal from the back with Callum McVeigh hitting one into the top right corner. Coming into half time 1-0 up there was still plenty to do, however with Sam Cochrane hunting the ball up top in the early stages of the second half, he earned his goal to make it 2-0. Magherafelt weren’t finished as they had majority of possession and chances in the second half and scored with 15mins left to play from a header following a set piece. The orange men stood firm and held their defence tight and managed to hold on to win 2-1. On behalf of Crossgar we want to thanks our supporters near and far for their attendance 👏🏼

We would like to thank Mark Wilkinson for organising the league, and we hope the money raised for Gospel Goal will be used for God’s honour and glory 🙌🏼

Crossgar Free (5) vs (2) Ballymena Free

Super performance from the boys in orange once again in the semi final of the Free P Summer League. A tough first 20 minutes were played, battling for the first goal but 1 goal after the next, Crossgar headed into half-time being 3-0 up. The game wasn’t over and a nervy penalty made it 3-1 into the second half but the orange men pushed on to win 5-2 overall with an overpowering display all round! We thank Ballymena for the good game and for their sportsmanship. Great to have a fairly good crowd to watch aswell. Onto the final!

Crossgar Free (1) vs (2) Kilkeel Free

Two matches in one week was always going to be difficult and unfortunately we suffered our first defeat in 90mins last night against a tough kilkeel side. We travelled to Kilkeel with a semifinal guaranteed however that didn’t stop us from wanting the win. A swift passage of play in the first half led to their first goal which was well hit outside the box but we were relentless, continually pressing till a well taken goal from Sam C made it a tie shortly in the second half. With Crossgar looking the likeliest to score Kilkeel upset the hearts to score another against the passage of play. With hitting the post, crossbar and multiple goal line clearances we knew it wasn’t our night but credit to all those in the orange army who never gave up right till the end.

Devotional was based on Psalm 20:7 about trusting in God instead of the world 🙏🏻

Crossgar Free (1) vs (0) Portadown Free

Our third game in the group stage of the Free P Summer League was against last years winners and a very difficult opponent. Portadown played very good pass and go football, but it was a mistake at the back in the first half which led to a nice finish from Sam C. The boys in orange held out to the end to keep a clean sheet and make sure they got the 3 points. All the best to Portadown for the rest of the tournament.

Devotional was based on Matthew 25:31-40 on treating others like Jesus 🙏🏻

Crossgar Free (13) vs (1) Ballynahinch Free

We didn’t have to travel too far to play our second game in the Free P Summer League. A super display from the boys in orange, using the wings to cut open the defence on numerous occasions. Unfortunately there were quite a few dropouts from Ballynahinch but we appreciate the competitiveness they showed right until the very end. Great to get our first win of the tournament and get that unity feeling back again. All the best to Ballynahinch for the rest of the tournament.

Devotional was based on Isaiah 55:6-9 on the higher ways of God 🙏🏻
