Crook Salvation Army Church A church for everyone. Here for you, in your community.

This Volunteers’ Week we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who serves The Salvation Army in their own time.

Our volunteers bring their best selves, their God-given energies and their convictions to support our vital work. They are enthusiastic, committed and eager to give their time and skills to care for some of the most marginalised and vulnerable people in our society.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! We are so grateful for all that you do ❤️

[Image description: "Thank you to our volunteers." There is an image of two smiling women, one with blonde shoulder-length hair, wearing a white polo shirt with a red Salvation Army shield, the other has blue hair and wears glasses, with a green hoody. They each hold a white mug with a hot drink as they share a happy moment.]

See if you can spot some of us dancing in the aisles! We thank God!!🙌🏻

📢 'Dear friend, you are ‘light’ to express it, not to hide it. ‘Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bucket, but on a stand; and it gives light to all that are in the house,’ Jesus also said (Matthew 5:15). No one lights a candle and hides it under a bushel, right? It would defeat the entire purpose of light.' - Treasure Umoh

In this reflection, Treasure Umoh from Nigeria, a member of The Salvation Army’s International Children and Youth Advisory Group (ICYAG), explores what it truly means to be ‘light in the darkness’ and challenges us to live boldly and visibly for Christ. ➡️ https://alltheworld.salvationarmy.org/light-in-the-darkness/

'We are so thankful to God for his many blessings to us through our parent-and-toddler groups!'

Lieutenant Isabel Flanagan (Cowdenbeath) joins others in celebrating how seeds of faith are being sown as The Salvation Army journeys with families in this week's issue of Salvationist.
