Fossoway: St. Serf's & Devonside

Fossoway: St. Serf's & Devonside We are a family centred church at the heart of the local community Also the churchyard contains one of the few 'Hearse Houses' still left in Scotland.

The Crook of Devon is situated on the A977 about 6 miles south west of Kinross,.One of the focal points of village life is the Fossoway Parish church whose extension and church hall was finished in early 2000 AD. During the construction of the hall a time capsule was placed in the foundations containing the story of the life of the church in the 20th century.

Take your kids to church.

Even if they wiggle in the seat.
Even if they whisper too loud.
Even if you feel like everyone is looking at you.

Bring them anyway.

Because church isn’t about perfectly behaved kids.
It’s about raising kids who know where to run when life gets heavy.

It’s about teaching them that when they’re scared… they can pray.
When they’re hurting… they can turn to God.
When they feel lost… they know where to go.

And if you haven’t gone in a long time… that’s okay.
If it’s been years… that’s okay too.
If you’ve never taken them before… that’s okay.

You can start now.

Your kids don’t need a perfect parent leading them.
They just need a parent who’s willing.

Let them see you worship.
Let them see you pray.
Let them see you trust God even when you don’t have all the answers.

Because one Sunday can turn into a habit.
And a habit can turn into a foundation.

And that foundation might be the very thing that carries them through the hardest moments of their lives one day.

So if you’ve been feeling that little tug in your heart lately…
maybe this is your sign.

Take your kids to church.
God will meet you there. 🤍🙏

Originally displayed at St Paul's Episcopal Church in Kinross, this icon of St Andrew is painted on a Ukrainian ammunition box. As we mark the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine we pray for our brothers and sisters experiencing the trauma and horror of war and we pray earnestly for peace.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Johnson to the role of ‘Minister B’ in Kinross‑shire Parish Church. Following the services yesterday, a vote was held, overseen by Interim Moderator for the vacancy, Rev. Marc Prowe, and two members of Carse of Gowrie Kirk.

The outcome was as follows:
For the appointment of Alex: 193
Against the appointment of Alex: 20.
Alex has therefore been appointed, subject to the approval of Presbytery, to join our Team Ministry alongside Rev. Alan Reid.

This marks an important milestone for our church, and we are delighted that Alex has accepted the call to serve in our parish. We extend our warmest congratulations to Alex and his family, and offer prayerful good wishes for his journey ahead.

Come to any or all. Feel free to drop in when you can.
