A REMINDER ABOUT THIS WEEKEND’S ART EXHIBITION

On the weekend of the early May Bank Holiday (May 3rd- 5th) we are delighted to say that local, professional watercolourist John Hurst, along with his wife Jacqui, both of whom are members of our congregation, will be staging a weekend exhibition at the Church with part proceeds in aid of the Church.

John is well known for his atmospheric, figurative paintings of the Norfolk coast in addition to the original watercolour of the Church that featured in his previous successful exhibition here in 2018. Jacqui,in turn, hand makes delicate narrative prints depicting the Norfolk landscape and wildlife.

Fine prints and greeting cards will also feature in the exhibition along with limited copies of John’s memoir: “Watercolour Words. Fifty Years”

John will be in Church throughout the exhibition to welcome visitors and explain his watercolour technique as well as sharing stories.

The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m - 4 p.m. on Saturday 3rd May and Monday 5th May and from 12 Noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday 4th May. Entry is free, there is plenty of free parking and there will be refreshments throughout the weekend.

Pictured are some of John’s paintings and there are more details on his website www.marshlandarts.co.uk

All of us at All Saints, Beeston Regis and, in fact, throughout the Quintet Benefice join with our Roman Catholic friends in mourning the death of Pope Francis.

This Sunday is the Second Sunday of Easter and our 11 a. m. service of Holy Communion will be led by Revd. Pat Baggaley. Last Sunday, Easter Sunday, there were about 40 people at our Family Communion service and it would be lovely to see as many at the service this week.

This week’s Gospel reading from St. John Chapter 20 verses 19-31 tells of Jesus’ appearance to his disciples after his resurrection.

“Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed”.

A reminder that the Annual Parochial Church Meeting will be held after the service on Sunday.
