Update from Presbytery – Future Linkage with Mid Strathearn

Last night Graeme, Sandra and I attended Presbytery on behalf of the congregation under the recent citation about our proposed linkage with Mid Strathearn Church.
Before the formal business began, we heard two excellent presentations. The Rt Rev Rosie Frew, current Moderator of the General Assembly, spoke about her year in office, and Karen Kelman, the new Presbytery Communications Officer, shared her vision for strengthening communications and developing digital church engagement
We’re pleased to share that Presbytery has approved the recommendation for conversations to begin between our two congregations. This is an important and hopeful step forward.
The Rev Bob Milne spoke on behalf of Mid Strathearn and shared that their Kirk Session is fully supportive and genuinely enthusiastic about the prospect of a linkage. It was encouraging to hear how positively they are approaching this.
I also spoke briefly to confirm that our own Kirk Session is looking forward to these discussions, and we hope they will be constructive and fruitful for everyone involved.
We took the opportunity to thank John Ferguson, the Presbytery Office, and the staff at 121 for their unwavering support over the past six months. We also expressed our gratitude for the many prayers and kind words from Ministers and members of Presbytery as we continue to move forward.
Thank you for keeping this process in your prayers as we take these next steps together.
