The builders have gone, the scaffolding has been removed, the East Wall is stable, the cleaners have been in (THANK YOU !!!) and we are now ready to greet the first visitors to our Open Saturdays in August. Join us from 10.30 tomorrow morning for the best tea and cakes in town.

Thank you to those of you who have been in touch inquiring about the work which is ongoing at St Edmund's.

There have been three lots of workmen around in the last couple of weeks with scaffolding erected so that work can go on inside and outside the building. Protectahomes are working on the East Wall while Joda are replacing some of the rendering on the inside of the building.

We had hoped the closure would have been limited to the church building last week but the work has taken longer than anticipated. You will be aware that access across the church yard is closed off at the moment for everybody's safety as workmen come and go inside and out.

The church will be open on Sunday for services when the risks can be managed effectively. We will let you know when it is safe to reopen
