We are so pleased that the number of rough sleepers in Crewe is drastically reduced but for those still on the streets or in their own place but struggling charities like the Lighthouse provide a welcome refuge with a hot takeaway meal and tasty snacks for all to enjoy.

We are so lucky that the outreach team at Cheshire east help people into supported accommodation and that the provider works with tenants to find their own place.

We welcomed friends old and new on Thursday and thanks to the volunteers, Greggs, KFC, Nando's, Waitrose & Partners, Aldi UK and the Tressell Trust we supplied such a good selection of food.
Thanks to volunteers for preparing and cooking the food, and talking to guests to ensure the correct help is given.
And to those helping with clothes and foodstuffs. All are invaluable.

Many thanks to the kind offers of pushchairs for our family who are struggling. This will make such a difference and your kindness in donating means a lot.

We also had donations from Greggs which enabled us to serve sausage rolls, pies, sandwiches and cakes to our hungry guests last night. Several tasty bowls of chicken from Nando's and KFC were enjoyed by all.
This really makes a difference, we serve people who are homeless and support to the right help, we serve people who are in supported accommodation and HMOs where they have to share a kitchen. We serve people who are lonely and love the social aspect and friendly chats. All are welcome and by now good friends, it is great to see people coming out of their shell gaining confidence and in many cases starting on a road to recovery.
We really hate waste and were pleased to see empty plates and dishes at the end of the night.

Just when we thought the rain was stopping hailstones rained down on us. Luckily most were in the church building but some of the volunteers were sorting food donations to be chosen by our guests. Great thanks to Aldi customers, Aldi UK, and Waitrose & Partners for continuing to support us.
Guests are able to choose the items they would like and this gives them independence.

What a night, after a torrential downpour many guests attended the Lighthouse last night. They were welcomed by our wonderful volunteers who provided warming drinks, snacks donated by Greggs in Crewe, chicken pieces from Nando's and KFC both branches in Crewe.
Our guests really appreciate the chance to meet friends, get advice and signposting for help. We encourage those on the streets to contact CE homeless team and are very grateful that we can signpost on to the other Charities who help with food, toiletries clothes and support, the Salvation Army on Friday at 10, LATH at the Caritas centre on Tuesday and Thursday 10-1, where they can have a shower if needed and Chance at Jubilee House on Saturday 3.30-5.30
The clothing donations were especially welcome tonight as some attended with wet summer jackets. Men’s clothing donations are alway needed. and are quickly snapped up.

Many thanks to Nando's, Greggs, Waitrose & Partners, and Aldi UK for the food donations this week.
Special thanks to Aldi customers for supporting the Lighthouse and Becky Machin and Lea Davenport for donating clothes which were quickly snapped up.

Our guests enjoyed snacks, cakes, hot drinks and juice and were able to takeaway a home cooked meal, toiletries, and clothing.

Without the kind donations we could not help so many.
