Filling Station - Craven Arms

Filling Station - Craven Arms Christian Renewal, worship, prayer and evangelism. Do join us on Zoom for Autumn 2022-2023!

13/05/2026

Our next 'in person' gathering will be at Craven Arms Methodist Hall on 28th May. Refreshments will be available before our meeting starts at 19:30.

Our speaker this month is Bob Lillyman. Bob was involved in and around the police force for about 36 years, finishing up as a full time senior university lecturer at Teesside University (my subject was policing!). Jenny for her part was a school teacher but she left when we started a family (however she still teaches swimming part time as she loves teaching).

"We have never solicited any speaking engagement but those invitations have continued to this day. Our simple motto in this household has been that "if the Lord opens a door, we will step through it and expect to find him ready and waiting on the other side". We have found this to be so true and have never been disappointed as he has gone ahead of us. Indeed, those invitations have included many trips to other countries on three continents including Israel where we served for many years as part of the team at the Garden Tomb."

We look forward to seeing you.

We restart our 'in-person' meetings this Thursday 23rd April at Craven Arms Methodist Hall - refreshments from 7:15 with a 7:30 start. We welcome a small team from Telford Minster and our speaker is Claire Sherwood-Gee.

Claire says "I am wife to David and Mom to our twin teenagers Isabelle and Jake.
For most part of my career i worked as a sales manager covering pretty much the whole of the UK , lots of travel involved!

Just over 12 years ago my husband and I made a decision to explore becoming foster parents, which we did for many years while still working full time, but then after being made redundant during covid we decided to become full-time time foster carers.

During our time we have cared for 39 children ranging from new born babies right up to over 18s.

Which brings us to where I am now, I'm currently exploring my calling into ordained ministry and have been using my time serving at Telford Minster in various capacities, however that looks, whether it's serving with women's gatherings, youth gatherings and Ministry Apprentice and I'm now stepping in to leading there on selected Sundays as part of the team.

I'm really excited to be traveling the path that God has already cleared the way for, and my greatest prayer is that as many people as possible get to the know the joy, freedom, love and Grace that can be found in knowing and trusting in Jesus Christ our lord and saviour!"

Our speaker on our Zoom meeting on 26th March is Paul Green (the one on the left).

Paul loves exploring the Good News of the Kingdom of Heaven through talks, seminars and in his charismatic ministry. It even inspired his creative innovation as a founder of three technology companies. He is currently a Lay Minister in Hereford Diocese and is a volunteer guide and technology adviser to Ironbridge Gorge Museums.
“Most of all,” he says, “I love walking our dog who leads me to people God wants to bless. It’s so good seeing the Holy Spirit touching so many lives in these unexpected encounters.”
Married to Kate, Paul has science degrees, studied theology at St Mellitus and WTC and is currently working on an MA in Kingdom Theology.

Our meeting starts at 7:30 but please join us on Zoom from 7:20. Please request the meeting link from [email protected], preferably by 5pm on 25th.

The Onny Camlad Benefice are hosting Riding Lights Theatre Company's new passion play 'Night Falls' on Saturday 7th March at 7pm at The Village Hall, Norbury (see attached poster).
We are the only church hosting the production in the Shropshire/Herefordshire and West Midlands area.

About 'Night Falls':
Four final days before an ex*****on that will change everything.
Three enemies that want to put an end to the so-called Messiah.

Two strangers torn between faith and doubt, hope and grief, trying to prevent Jesus of Nazareth from getting himself arrested.

One safe house in Bethany.

The hours are running out, but even as night falls, a strange hope is wrapped in a secret that both strangers share. For this is the house of Lazarus, and under his roof, the impossible has already occurred…

Night Falls is a fresh, vivid and dynamic retelling of the Easter story, blending music and powerful drama alongside space for reflection and worship.

The Stage comments ' 'Outstanding theatre... Riding Lights works miracles."

Tickets are priced at £15 (£10 for concessions) and are available to book online at WWW.Ridinglights.org/Nightfalls or access Norbury Village Hall events on 7th March to book tickets. Plenty of free parking at the Village Hall, Norbury, with refreshments after the production.

Please contact Sue Cooke [email protected] for further info.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWp0K6ucLYk We watched this video as part of our meeting tonight and found it very thought provoking. As it's hosted on YouTube, Filling Station (locally and nationally) cannot be held responsible for any adverts they choose to run during the main presentation.

Our next Zoom gathering will be for an Agape Celebration on 12th March - please email cravenarmsfs@gmail if you'd like to join us. We particularly welcome any believer who is unable to physically attend fellowship at the present time.

Our next monthly meeting will be on Thursday 26th February on Zoom at 7.30pm. Please join us from 7.20pm.

We don't have a "live" speaker this month but we are showing a recorded discussion from the national team at the Filling Station. Our 'own' Hellie will be one of the participants discussing "Heaven", what is it like and what happens when we die". It should be very interesting and thought provoking and there will be some time afterwards for thoughts from the 'floor'.

We hope you can join us, there will be the usual worship as well as the recording. Please email us, preferably by Wednesday lunchtime to request the Zoom link.

We meet on Zoom from 7:20 pm this Thursday 22nd January.

Our speaker this month is Jayne Morris (no relation to Carol).

Jayne Morris is well known to Christians in the local area. For many years she was involved in leading worship at the Newcastle on Clun Filling Station as well as our Craven Arms Filling Station in the early days. She also led worship at her church, St Andrew's, Craven Arms. For many years Jayne was an active Christian voice, involved in a wide variety of Christian groups and events.

More recently Jayne has returned to full time work and time constraints have resulted in a less active involvement in the locality.
Recent years have seen life changing events for Jayne and her family. Jayne lost both parents and her husband Marc, had a stroke. As a result of the stroke life changed abruptly for both Marc and Jayne, they saw answers to prayer, God's hand in a different way, and their lives have taken a different path as Marc needs practical care and support from Jayne and the family.

Jayne walks closely with The Lord, her message on Thursday will reveal more of God's heart.
