*HOW DOES FAITH COME?*

Bible in one Year: Amos 5-9

Romans 10:17
*“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”*

God has not only told us that without faith it is impossible to please Him, but He has also told us how to obtain faith. If we don’t have faith, it is not God’s fault. To blame God for our lack of faith is nothing but ignorance.

The Apostle Paul said that we are saved by faith (Ephesians. 2:8). Faith for salvation comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”( Romans 10:8–10,13–14,17) How does faith for healing come? In the same way faith for salvation comes—by hearing and believing God’s Word.

*Acts 14:7–10 - And there they [Paul and Barnabas] preached the gospel. And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.*

Someone might say, “Isn’t it wonderful how Paul healed that man!” But Paul did not heal the man. The man was not healed because Paul was an Apostle, nor was he healed by Paul’s faith. The man himself had faith. Paul did three things: He preached the Gospel. He perceived that the man had faith to be healed. He told the man to stand up and walk. The man did three things: He heard Paul preach. He received faith through what he heard. He leaped and walked.

*CONFESSION:*
*I receive grace to read and listen to God’s word daily. In Jesus Name. Amen*

*PRAYERS:*
*Lord, help me to be a hearer and a doer of your word, as I receive faith through hearing your word. I also receive strength to do what the word says in Jesus Name. Amen!*

*WHAT IS FAITH?*

Bible in one year: Proverbs 25

Hebrews 11:1
*“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”*

Faith is the key ingredient to bring our desires and dreams to reality. The substance needed to bake a cake (what you hope for) includes flour, milk, sugar etc. Heb 11:1 is simply saying faith is what we add to our hope (expectation) to bring tangible results.

Faith is defined as belief with strong conviction; firm belief in something for which there may be no physical proof; complete trust, confidence, reliance or devotion. Faith is the opposite of doubt. Webster's New World College Dictionary defines faith as "unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence; unquestioning belief in God."

Faith is not the product of reason which limits man to this natural realm. Do not spend most of your time looking at the things you can see with your physical eyes, and believing what your natural senses tell us. The Bible makes it absolutely clear: Faith can overcome anything in this world order. There is literally no limit to what faith can do.
Faith is possibly the single-most important element in the Christian life.

Let's look at a passage in the Bible that speak of faith: *Hebrews 11:6 states, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." (NIV)*

Faith, then, is key to pleasing God. We need faith first to come to God, to believe He exists and to trust Him for our needs.

*CONFESSION:*
*I believe in the Almighty God, the creator of the whole universe, I believe in His Son Jesus, who gave His life for me, I believe in the Holy Spirit and by faith I know that He LIVES IN ME. The greater One lives in me and therefore, nothing will bring me down.*

*PRAYERS:*
*Thank you heavenly father for you have given me the gift of faith. I receive the God kind of faith to do the impossible in Jesus Name. Amen!*

*THE WORD IS LIVING*

Hebrews 4:12 (NLT):
*For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.*

If your career or business or anything is dead, like Ezekiel you can deploy the word to bring them back to life. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.- Ezekiel 37:9-10 Jesus said, ‘It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63). So when you want to deal with negative spiritual entities discipline them with your tongue.

The word of God doesnt just carry life, it is life therefore whenever or wherever it is spoken, life is released or experienced. To revive a dead marriage, business or career, speak the word of God under the anointing and life will return as decreed. God had to teach His prophet the way to transmit life by raising an army from dry bones just by speaking. Jesus Christ is known as the Living word. He is the word who became flesh. Whenever you want life, speak God’s word.

*ACTION POINT:*
*Do you have any dead situation or condition in your life? Speak the inspired word of God as the word commanded to the situation and bring them back to life.*
