On this very hot summer day in the UK, a small group of Christians met online and discussed the story in the Bible about when Jesus was hot, tired, and thirsty. He spoke with a foreign woman who had come to the well against which Jesus was leaning, and asked her to give him some water. From that conversation her life and that of a whole village was wonderfully enriched, finding that Jesus can satisfy inner longings like no other.

In noting the passing of Bishop Timothy Dudley Smith I am reminded of his involvement in an evangelistic mission in Snettisham back in 1989. He spoke at the opening meeting where we sang one hof his hymns and he samg one of mine. He has made an enormous contribution in so many ways to Christian worship and witness. It was a joy to know and work with him.

Many years ago I was part of a rural mission that had an associate organisation called The Midlands Evangelistic Film Unit (or similar) that showed 16mm films in village halls and churches as an outreach. The world has changed and we now have DVDs. Do you know of anyone using good Christian films from their home or church as a means of sharing the good news of Jesus?
