We were out today capturing something truly special.
Just outside Downpatrick in Northern Ireland. we spent time photographing and flying the drone around this historic and sacred site, gathering both stills and cinematic aerial footage for our Royal Media Collections.
This isn’t just another old church. Saul Church is traditionally recognised as the place where St. Patrick first landed in Ireland in 432 AD. It was here he began his mission. Here the early seeds of faith were planted. Here a simple barn was given to him — which became Ireland’s first Christian church.
The media captured today reflects that quiet depth and legacy — peaceful landscapes, textured stone, and striking simplicity. For over 1,500 years, this place has shaped Irish Christian heritage.
