When Oksana was just eight-years-old, she fell from a cherry tree, suffering a severe spinal injury and temporarily losing her ability to speak. Although she survived, her injuries never fully healed. Accessing medical care was already difficult—but when war came to Ukraine, it became nearly impossible

After years of suffering through her condition, Oksana finally found consistent care through a Samaritan’s Purse Mobile Medical Unit serving communities affected by the conflict.

Reflecting on her first visit, Oksana shared:

“I was immediately invited to see a family doctor. They checked my blood pressure, ran tests, listened carefully, prescribed treatment, and provided the medicine I needed.”

Today, Oksana is receiving the care she once thought was out of reach.

Meet Syfa, who came to the UK from Ituri, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), in 2017 to escape ongoing conflict and violence.

Although she now lives in the UK, her heart remains with her family and loved ones back home.

Every time Syfa speaks with her sister, Mapenzi—a doctor serving in Ituri—she prays for her safety. As Ebola spreads through parts of the region, this crisis is more than a headline for Syfa. It is deeply personal.

Please join us in praying:

🙏 For those affected by Ebola and for healing for those who are sick.

🙏 For healthcare workers like Mapenzi as they faithfully serve their communities during this outbreak.

🙏 For the Ebola outbreak to be contained quickly and ultimately eliminated.

🙏 For peace, safety, and an end to the conflict and violence that continue to impact families across the DRC.

Today is World Refugee Day and Samaritan's Purse is honored to care for families across the world who yearn to return home.

🇱🇧 Currently, more than one million people in Lebanon have been forced to flee due to conflict. Among them is Rima, who received support through a local church partner working with Samaritan’s Purse.

“I found a lot of love in this place. You are the only people who helped us.”

This World Refugee Day, read her powerful story and see how God is bringing hope to families who have lost so much.

As Ebola cases continue to rise in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Samaritan’s Purse is in the process of opening two Ebola Treatment Centers at the epicentre of the outbreak to provide life-saving care to those who are suffering. 🇨🇩

Our teams have deployed to one of the hardest-hit regions of the country, where doctors, nurses, and disaster response specialists are working around the clock to care for patients, help stop the spread of the virus, and share hope in the midst of fear.

As we open these facilities, staff gathered together in prayer—asking God to protect patients, strengthen healthcare workers, and bring an end to this deadly outbreak.
