Last Saturday we welcomed back Fr Emmanuel to celebrate Mass for our Parish Feast Day celebrations along with our own Fr. Jobin and we also welcomed Fr. Alex from St John Vianney. It was a wonderful occasion when both the churches of our Parish ( St Judes Mission for the Syro Malankara Catholic Church UK and ourselves) came together for a joint celebration of our Patroness.

Foodbank is open today from 10.30am until 12.30pm. We would like to thank all the people and businesses who have kindly donated food this week. We have managed to send quite a lot to the central warehouse. If you need help please do not sit in silence or hunger please come and see us and we can help. We are free.

Coventry Foodbank Update

Today we’ve had to make some very difficult decisions. Our stock levels are now critically low, and sadly we cannot wait until Harvest for supplies to recover.

Demand for support has been rising month by month, while public donations have been steadily falling. At this level of need, we simply cannot continue operating as we have been.

To ensure we can still support our community through the summer, we are reducing our voucher limit to 3 vouchers in 6 months, and our overall Foodbank service will operate at 50% capacity during the summer period.

This means some church distribution centres will open fewer days, alternate weeks, or close temporarily when volunteer numbers are low due to holidays. All team leaders and volunteers are aware and working hard to manage this challenging time.

These measures will help us rebuild stock levels and ensure we can continue serving those who rely on us in the months ahead.

As a church committed to the Foodbank mission, we ask for your support:

🙏 Pray for our volunteers as they navigate these difficult changes.
🙏 Pray for those who depend on us, that they find the support and stability they need.

Congratulations to Fr Jithin, who will celebrate his Malankara Rite Mass in our Parish this weekend.

Dear Friends in Christ,

We are delighted to announce the priestly ordination of
Deacon Jithin Thomas Titto, a cherished parishioner of our Coventry Mission. The ordination will be solemnised by His Beatitude and Eminence Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, Major Archbishop-Catholicos, in the esteemed presence of Most Rev. Bernard Longley, Archbishop of Birmingham, and Most Rev.Dr Kuriakose Mar Osthathios, Apostolic Visitator to the United Kingdom and Europe, according to the Antiochian liturgical rite.

Deacon Jithin Thomas Titto hails from Idukki, Kerala, India, and later migrated to the United Kingdom. His journey with Christ began in his youth through the Divine Prayer Group, where he first discerned the stirrings of a vocation.

Responding to God’s call, he entered the seminary to deepen his formation. After years of prayer, study, and discernment, he has chosen to embrace the sacred priesthood in his ancestral rite.

We, the Malankara Catholic Church, rejoice in offering our beloved son to serve in the Archdiocese of Birmingham.
Let us keep Deacon Jithin in our prayers as he prepares to begin his priestly ministry.
