This Thursday is Su***de Prevention Day, and Violet Project CIO and Coventry Cathedral warmly invite you to join us in person for a free, heartfelt gathering to mark World Su***de Prevention Day on Thursday 10th September from 6.30pm - 7.30pm.

The service will provide a safe space to remember, support, and spread hope. Guest speakers will share their journeys and messages of HOPE through their experiences with mental health. Hope and connection are vital for su***de prevention. There are people and charities to talk to before and after the service, and a support bag for the first 300 with refreshments and cake.

On Friday 11 September, Coventry Cathedral will mark the 25th anniversary of the attacks of 9/11 with a short vigil of prayer and reflection in the Cathedral Ruins at 3.00pm. The time coincides with 10.00am in New York, the moment when many gather to remember those who lost their lives and the events that changed our world.

As a place dedicated to reconciliation and peace, Coventry Cathedral invites people from across the Diocese and wider community to join us as we remember the victims of terrorism and violence, pray for healing and peace among nations, and recommit ourselves to building a more just and compassionate world.

The vigil will last approximately 30 minutes and all are welcome.

Two weeks until Heritage Open Days returns over Friday 11th September to Sunday 20th September!

This year's theme is Everyday Histories and as part of this we are opening the Living Type of Ralph Beyer exhibition which explores the lively character behind Coventry Cathedral's iconic Tablets of the Word, the Baptismal font and the greeting set into the floor of the New Cathedral.

Embark on a visual journey through the artist’s craft, working life, and lasting influence on stone letter carving, culminating in the creation of Coventry’s own distinctive font. Free tickets are also available for a Linocut Letterpress workshop on Saturday 12th September (Limited Spaces!)
