⚠PLEASE NOTE:

There will be no service in St Michael and All Angels Cosheston this week (Sunday 13th September)
it doesn't usually affect us, however, with Reverend Hannah living on a closed road for the event and our worship leaders away, we are unable to hold the service this week.

Sunday 20th September -9am Morning Prayer with Baptism in the afternoon.

A wonderful first Sunday back for 'Together for Worship'.

At the start of the new academic year, we thought about what we wanted to be when we grow up....
🚓Police Officer (later learnt Traffic cop specifically)
👩‍🎨 an Artist,
👨‍🌾a farmer ploughing fields, 🤴and a knight in a suit of armour, 💃a ballerina...
we drew pictures of what we wanted to be and thought about the gifts God gives us, that we must shine our light and not hide it from others, and when we listen to our teachers and others, we learn from them and can become the best version of ourselves in doing so.

Reverend Hannah spoke about wanting to be an Irish dancer when she was little, like the 'Lord of the Dance' dancers she recently saw.

We blessed some school bags and enjoyed and afternoon of fellowship with our church family.

The next Together for Worship is on October the 4th at 3pm and it is our Harvest Festival.

Services at St Michael and All Angels, Cosheston this week
Sunday 6th September 2026

We have two services this week.

🟢Lay led Morning Prayer service at 9am
and
🔵Together for worship , our family worship at 3pm.
Together for worship is a service of Holy Eucharist, with a family friendly feel to the service, crafts for children, and this month, we request you bring school bags, work bags, pencil cases etc for our school bag blessing.

All Welcome to either or both services.

😃Its our first Together for Worship Service back after the summer break... we hope you all had a wonderful summer?

As children are heading back to school this week, we wanted to offer something to everyone to mark the occasion.
At our service of "Together for Worship' on Sunday we will be offering a blessing over our school bags, and for the academic year ahead.
Bring your school bags, your work bags, your handbags, pencil cases .... any bag you wish to bring to be blessed for the year ahead... (last we we blessed a toy tractor too). 🎒👜🧳🚜

The staff have been back for 2 days….. today sees the children return to school after a wonderful summer break!

Welcome hope everyone has a great first day back at school in Cosheston today, especially those who are about to embark on their school journey and enjoying their first day of school.

We have cleared most of the overhanging ivy and brambles so that children have a safe walk up to the school from the village tomorrow.
We try our best to keep this maintained.
Thank you to Ginny who saw what I was doing and came to help.
With Ginny’s help we have also cleared the footpath as best we can of moss and grass.
I will be cont saying highways to see if they can get the bits we couldn’t get off.

Please be careful underfoot as it may be a little slippy!

Back to school.

Good luck to all going back to school this week.

Today we welcomed Reuben and his family and friends as he was Baptised.
Annointed with the holy oils and baptised by water and the Holy Spirit.

⚠ Please Note⚠

There is no Sunday morning service in St Michaels and All Angels this Sunday (30th August)

as it is a fifth Sunday in the month, we join together with other churches. This Sunday we join with St Mary, Redberth.
There will be light refreshments after the service.

This bank holiday weekend, why not pop into our beautiful church.
open 10-4 daily (please be warned, there is a baptism early Sunday afternoon)

Come in, have a look at the beauty of this ancient building. There are history displays and photos of times gone by.
