Heavenly Father, we come to You with heavy hearts to lift up all people, communities, and places affected by the recent wildfires. Please bring comfort to those who are devastated by the loss of homes, possessions , and pets. Give safety to the evacuees, and strength to everyone in harm's way, and pour out your healing touch on the injured and vulnerable. Shield families in the path of the flames, and grant them clear minds, swift and safe escapes, and shelter from danger. Give courage and strength to all First Responders: Surround firefighters and emergency crews with a hedge of protection. Give them wisdom, endurance, and physical safety as they battle the extreme heat and smoke. Amen

The eclipse may have been obscured by a cloud last night but the light from it bathed the inside of Christ Church in a spectacular and unusual way, with spots of light appearing in places where it is not usually noticed. Some of it is subtle but the mural of Christ ascending into heaven is stunning. A light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it: John 1.5

Evening folks. So this morning at 10.30am our coping stone thieves returned to help themselves to more stones. They have left it in a dreadful state, but what's even more upsetting is that I was about to conduct a funeral in church, which is probably why they left some behind. The matter has been reported to the police, along with more evidence as to your identity. Vile individuals
