Goodness but the bank holiday weekend at the end of May was hot - bbq's, beach trips and basking will have featured for many of us! Let's keep our fingers crossed for ongoing summer weather with just a spot of rain here an there to top up the water butts.
Quick reminder that entries are open for the Cornwood Challenge 10km and 4km Fun Run, visit www.sientries.co.uk. It's a lovely, if hard, course and such a great atmosphere of support for all entrants.

What a wonderful day we had at the May Fair on Monday! ☀️

Last night we held our Parish Church Council AGM. During the meeting we said goodbye to George as he stepped down from his role as Churchwarden, and welcomed Ben as our new Churchwarden… definitely big shoes to fill!

A huge thank you to George for all his hard work, dedication, and faithful service to our church over the years — it is so appreciated by us all.

Our new “dream team” of Churchwardens is now Marilyn and Ben! We are exceptionally grateful to Marilyn for everything she does to keep our wonderful church going with her knowledge, wisdom, and experience. She keeps threatening to stand down, but we won’t let her!

**Fun fact, both our Church Wardens have been on the honours list!! Marilyn was in 2016 on the Her Majesty, the Queen’s New Years honours list for her British Empire Medal and Ben was on His Majesty The King’s first birthday honours list in 2024 for his Meritorious Service Medal. Isn’t that amazing??

What a wonderful day at our Fair in the Square! 🌞

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event – it was so lovely to see the square full of smiling faces and such a fantastic community spirit. And we must say, the sun (mostly!) behaved itself for us too!

We’re incredibly grateful to all of our amazing stall holders for bringing such a great variety of goods, as well as our brilliant entertainers who kept the atmosphere lively throughout the day and the train 🚂

Most importantly, a heartfelt thank you to our hardworking volunteers who gave their time across every part of the event. From planning and set-up to running stalls and helping everything flow smoothly on the day – we simply couldn’t do this without you.

Thank you all for making it such a special day. 💛

🎪 Fair In the Square 🎪

As promised, we booked the sun ☀️ for Bank Holiday Monday- let’s hope it behaves itself and stays that way. Why don’t you stay local and come and join in the fun, with music, a great selection of stalls, hot food, games and much more. You’ll be helping to raise much needed funds for your church too so it’s a win win 🏆 hope to see you there 😊

We’ve pulled out all the stops — and yes, the sunshine is booked ☀️ — so come and soak up the joy of this brilliant community day! Expect a lively atmosphere filled with fantastic entertainment, a great mix of quality stalls, fun games, delicious hot food and plenty of refreshments to keep you going 🍔🎪

🌸 A true highlight of the day — the traditional Maypole dancing, performed by the wonderful children of Cornwood Primary School — a moment not to be missed!
