Wow our very own Michael, a volunteer from The Consett Christmas Tree Festival is running for another excellent cause. If you are able please support him. Well done šŸ™

Thank you to everyone who has supported Michael so far in his London Marathon 2026 campaign.

Your donations and spreading of the message will help open up the countryside for children who may not otherwise have the chance to experience it.

Michael’s training is continuing each day, with regular runs as he builds strength and stamina for marathon day.

šŸ‘‰ As he works towards his Ā£2,000 fundraising goal for The Country Trust, please consider supporting Michael and sharing with your friends, family, or colleagues: https://www.countrytrust.org.uk/london_marathon_michael

With great pleasure we were able to donate £1800 to Consett Food4U foodbank from The Consett Christmas Tree Festival. It will be used to help local families, especially during these difficult times. We have also given the same amount to Christ Church Consett. Thank you so much to everyone who donated to us, not only does it mean we have a start up fund for next year, but also that we can help others.

IT’S A WRAP 2025
The Christmas Tree Festival aim is to open the doors of the Church and welcome the community in to share the joy, love and hope of the Christmas story through the whole weekend. The 54 trees, as everyone said, were outstanding and, although the judges and public voted for specific ones, everyone of them was truly amazing. We were lucky enough to have lots of groups come to support us including Whittonstall Community Band,Spotlight Community Theatre Productions, Red Dust Company Choir, Memory Makers, St. Patrick's Primary School Consett, The Grove Primary School as well as fabulous individual musicians and the The Biking Santas who raised over £200 for Brain Tumour Research.
Many local businesses helped us with support, which meant we could keep the event free for all to enjoy, with those who are able making a donation. Thanks to:
Tesco Community Champion, Morrisons, Gary Hall, Cooperative Funeral Care, Tiffany Rose Incorporating Gray's Flowers & Everlasting Memories, Velo Electric Bikes, Premier Insurance, Genesis trust and many more who donated to our raffle. All stars. āļø
In keeping with last year we try to keep the festival accessible to everyone and we welcomed over 50 people prior to being opened to the public.
We are especially pleased that over 120 of you offered a prayer šŸ™to loved ones and pets who have died and are missed, world peace, to end homelessness and for health of family and friends. We carefully collected all the prayers up and put them on the altar on Sunday, we then prayed over each one. We pray that each person feels God’s love for them and you know he hears your prayer.
The team have reflected on all the smiling faces, over 200 baubles made, 113 letters to Santa šŸŽ…šŸ»(not all from Children), over 80 pints of milk (donated from Lanchester Dairies), most used for hot chocolate, 250 mince pies munched and over 300 biscuits.
Thank you to those who have been able to make a donation. We have made over £3600 to share between Christ Church Consett and Consett foodbank - Food4U who have said this means so much to local families this Christmas.
We have again retained £500 as a start up fund for next years event. (26th-29th November TBC)
The last thank you to ā€˜Team Christmas Treeā€˜ including Mark Sillett (amazing lighting and sound), a wonderful team who work hard to bring joy to others. So from us to you, have a Christmas wrapped in love and know that was why a baby was born over 2000 years ago in a stable.

A wonderful resting place for Mary and Joseph.

Huge thanks to the mystery donor who bid for Mary and Joseph on our behalf.

It's a lovely piece of art and has certainly brought the spirit of Christmas to Stepney Bank Stables.

The art work was part of the Christmas Tree Festival in The Parish Church in Consett.
Dream went along on Sunday to visit the children there and enjoyed a huge bag of carrots.

All proceeds from the auction go to Consett Food Bank.

North East Communities coming together, thats what Christmas is all about šŸŽ„

What a fabulous very, very busy last day at the Christmas tree festival, having to do a one in one out for a short time the building got so full. Thank you for your patiencešŸ˜…. We had school choirs from St. Patrick’s and The Grove who both sang beautifully and were a credit to their schools. We also enjoyed a visit from Santa and a Shetland pony from Stepney Bank stables. The community pop up nativity and the sharing of the Christmas story was a highlight with a beautiful array of Kings, Shepherds, Angels and a star, gathered around our own Mary and Joseph. The announcement of the People’s Choice award was not a surprise with it going to The Consett Lions with their fabulous train, with a special mention to Derwent Valley flower club not far behind. Thank you to all our tree winners and all those that took part to make it so special, as many of you said ā€˜how can you choose a winner they are all so good’. We have contacted all of the raffle winners, thank you to those that gave prizes, we have a generous community. Enjoy the photos and thanks again to Chris Bruce for taking them. If we happened to catch your child in a picture by mistake please let us know so we can remove it. I will gave you an idea of money raised and a final roundup in a couple of days. Many Thanks from Team Christmas Tree. šŸŽ„šŸŽ„šŸŽ„We had an amazing time.

Today (Sunday) is the last chance to see the 54 sparkly Christmas Trees and put in your vote for the best tree (the people’s choice) at this year’s festival. Our family craft table and festive cafe is also open.
12- 2pm Blue Christmas, a chance to enjoy a time of reflection, use our prayer corner and listen to music from our beautiful duo.
1:30 weather permitting, visit our Shetland pony outside the front of the Church.
2:00pm St Patrick’s School Choir joins us around the piano.
2:15 -3:15pm A visit from Santa, please put your name down from noon at the Church, we have 100 places.
4 pm Come along to our Community carol service, not to missed, hear who has won the people’s choice and raffle. We would especially love children to join in the nativity by dressing as shepherds, kings, angels, stars, Mary and Joseph as we share the Christmas story. We will have some costumes at the back of Church. We will also have the wonderful Grove School Choir to sing some songs for us.
